Default Would you recommend the RX to your friends/family?

I'm curious to hear how people are enjoying (or not) their 5th gen RX. I know a lot of people are sad the V6 was discontinued so I'd also love to hear how prior RX owners are faring.

As for me, we have a 350H (our first RX) and it is proving to be a great vehicle so to the answer is a solid yes. Is it perfect, absolutely not. But that said, I'm running 87 fuel, getting 36 mpg since day one, and it has proven to be luxurious just as it is practical.

I'm enjoying our RX450h+ and would recommend it, but I'd also recommend looking at the NX and RAV4 as well. I know I'd of been happy with the RAV4 or NX, but my partner really appreciates the luxury and increased cabin space of the RX.

Default Depend’s what you are looking for a car

It’s been 4 months with a RX350h, for me it fit perfect. Not to sporty, good on gas, should say very good on gas
enough space, I found the info system easy to use and learn
Of course I would like to see some amelioration but overall I am please.

planning to keep it a very long time, my gamble is a good reputation on Lexus reliability so will see the cost of maintenance and how long the battery will last

Just turned 10,000 mi on the odometer on my most recent road trip and have to say this has been an enjoyable, beautiful vehicle. Rides like a dream, great gas mileage and the driver assist tech is top notch. No complaints except where is my second key fob!! Purchased March 2023.

Very happy here. Other than slow filling at the gas station, the vehicle has been a pleasure

I am more than pleased with the RX450h+, as well. The hybrid drive train is most impressive and smooth as silk. There may be some potential buyers out there that are concerned about the "little", normally aspirated, 2.5L four under the hood but, the throttle response is right up there with a V6. My wife's 2017 Acura RDX has a 3.5L engine and the new Lexus is every bit as zippy as her Acura V6. We've got an NX450h+ on order for her, as soon as our local dealer can find one in Atomic silver with a palomino interior. The fuel mileage with the Lexus is something that I have been unaccustomed to for some time, as my ride since 2016 has been a Toyota Sequoia Platinum 5.7L. Despite being a great SUV and being able to yank our travel trailer around, it's good for right around 11 mpg in town, 16 mpg on the freeway, and a huge 10 mpg pulling the trailer. The Lexus' fuel mileage in itself, is a welcome change.

From a power and efficiency standpoint I think the 450h+ is the perfect choice. Isn't it something like 300hp? And does it also run 87 fuel? I couldn't justify making the leap from the 350h to the 450h+ for our needs (8,000 miles a year only). Though the 350h is perfectly adequate, I do wish I had that extra power without sacrificing efficiency.

You are correct...something like 302 HP, plenty of horsies under the hood when you need to get on it quickly.

According to Lexus, it's 304 HP combined, and it can run 87, though 91 is what Lexus recommended.

The extra power is very nice. Freeway merges are effortless in HV mode. You do lose almost 3 gallons of fuel capacity, but you get about a gallon's worth back in EV range

Coming up on 5k on my RX350 P+ purchased in July. Loving it. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone that asked for my opinion. Altho' I don't see that happening anytime soon ... Love it when we go on an excursion to the big city and it shows 29.9 mpg, on a non-hybrid.

We looked at the Rav4 Hybrid and it does not hold a candle to the RX 350h IMO

I've had our RX350h for about a month now.
I Love it!

Smooth, quiet and frugal on gas.

We also have a RX350 V6 and honestly I don't miss the power of the V6 when driving the 2.5 naturally aspirated Hybrid.

The only thing in not loving is the infotainment system and the whole profiles, app and digital key. Lexus/Toyota has a long way to go there to iron out the design flaws.

Both the Lexus NX and RX are far more luxurious and quieter than the RAV4, but the RAV4 has the same basic powertrain and many of the same features with similar stellar reliability. That's why I'd always recommend that people drive all three. Not everyone can afford, or wants to spend the money for, the luxury of Lexus.

My answer to the question is No. I would not recommend buying one.
