Default Lane Departure Warning steering wheel 'bump'

I am not sure if my Lane Departure Warning is operating properly. I have it set to vibrate and to react ealier. For the lomgest time I did not think it was working at all, but yesterday I was on the PA Turnpike for over 100 miles, so I had plenty of opportunities to "play" with it. If I pay VERY close attention I can feel a slight "bumping" (not a vibration like in my wife's 2022 RX) in the steering wheel. It is nothing that you would notice if you were not concentrating on feeling it.

I am curious as to what you get for a vibration on your RX. Also, if you came from a Gen 4 RX to the Gen 5, is it a simialr warning vibration?

The vibration is very light. I had a gen 4 loaner once and it vibrated much harder.

I do not get any vibration on my 350h. The is a slight ‘nudge” to stay in the lane. At times this “nudge” can be quite strong and other times hardly noticeable. Forgetting to use your blinker when changing lanes will remind you quickly.

That nudge is part of the Lane Centering system not the Lane Departure Warning system. I guess the slight bump or vibration is what they wanted but I have no idea what purpose it serves if it is not noticeable. I'm still on a learning curve, but I am really glad I came back to the Lexus from Mercedes.

You have the choice of vibration or audible. I think vibration is the default.

I think it works well. There is no way Lexus is going to make the “nudge” stronger it is just to bring your attention that the car thinks you are moving out of your lane. Maybe they should give owner the choice between “nudge”, audible or shake. From my experience it works well for me. Lexus can not please everyone.

I have owned two Mercedes and was always glad when I got rid of them. Just dealing with the dealership should be a warning to anyone!

From what I am reading here. Glad I talked my wife out of a Mercedes, we are waiting on our 2024 RX 450h+, due in next 30 days.
