Default Build quality and panel gaps

I don't know about anyone else but my QC has been pretty lackluster. 2023 RX 350.

-excessive noise above 75mph - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...her-speed.html
-dash separation issue - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...eparation.html
-infotainment bugs (text messages will be read aloud on one speaker while music continues on the other; wireless carplay will often skip, google maps just has a black empty screen)
-large panel gaps, fitment, couple of interior rattles
Seems even Lexus is not immune to the issues of new gen, first model year. Well, you live and learn.

Panel gaps were one of the first things I checked for when I took delivery of my vehicle and was very happy that they all look visually acceptable.

Yeah, when I looked at five RXs in Florida before I bought up north, the fit on all of them was good, including the gas cap.

Was your RX made in Canada or Japan? Some have said they prefer the Japanese builds better.

Mt 350h was built in Canada. They did a good job.

Ditto. Panel gap is not an issue for me. Even the gas cap lid is fine.

Some people are just waaaaaay more particular than others. There's always something which isn't perfect our annoying.

Very few things in life are perfect.

Tell my wife, PLEASE!

OTOH, once you see even a minor defect on your car, you can't unsee it....

To break out a tool to look at this, as they say only Lexus customer would do such a thing haha. The car meant to be driven and there will always be something off with every single one.
Take a look anytime you see exotic car they are basically glued together and your always see paint defects and things off.

The human eye, at least me, won’t be able to distinguish the two difference in gaps on opposite sides.

Well I used the tool to verify something I already suspected and compared to others, this was noticeably worse. The gaps were larger on this than any other model I saw in showroom except for the UX.

Default So, in your books, one fourth of 1/16" of an inch is a deal breaker?

0.3 MM is the equivalent of one quarter of 1/16 of an inch.
how does one determine what end of the hood is supposed to be a particular width. ?

Time to trade in the Lexus and go w Tesla or MB or BMW or Genesis ........Which model will you be purchasing ? A friend of mine just bought a beautiful Genesis GV70 which many reviewers have gushed over in the Automotive reviews., I seriously considered buying one . I spent a few hours going over Genesis forums and the issues people were encountering were significantly more noteworthy than a few noises or fractions of a millimeter gap
My dollars went in the direction of Lexus

Sorry to hear OP. My 2021 ES (which i sold) had really strong misalignments (both exterior & interior) as well but I fixed it myself. You may want to fix yours at home, as a tip to you.

You will need:

torx socket and ratchet and a dead blow soft hammer to hit the striker.

Coming up on a year on my new car.... No issues, no interior misalignments, all panels are perfect. Just plug it in nightly to charge... and drive

on my list of favorite Lexus SUVs is just one and one only: The 23+ UX. So far not liking the NX and RX from all the stuff im seeing here plus the overall design language, not like the older models. The 23+ UX takes the cake still. i am glad they are keeping the grill for the 2025 ux.
