It isn't rust, it is brake dust or dirt. I have same thing, if you hit it with brush your see it clean up. Even with pressure washer really doesn't move unless you scrub it..
@StickmanS We have hated surface rust on CALIPERS (aside from rotors) for years over MANY vehicles. (Not just Toyota/Lexus)
I know that Urlik will agree, G2 Caliper Paints are an awesome product, and have lasted more than 20 years on one of our sports cars that uses Toyota calipers. The G2 kits include everything you need to prep and brush-paint your calipers.
@Carbuff2 I understand it on rotors if a car sits for a while its normal, but on calipers? they should be coated with something from factory especially if you're already paying so much for a car, Im going to bring it up at the dealer when I go and try to push them to do something about it. I like how the 500h has them black and the lexus sticker on the front calipers might end up doing that but Ill try to push them to claim this under warranty but how I know dealers its always a hassle and never easy lol. But I appreciate the recommendation will save it for the future!
@estim8tr I too have had the microsuede separate but the dealer took care of it and just added probably a thin piece of foam on the clip and put it back in there but they know its a well known issue for all RX's.
