It will roll out to the RX as well. Wonder how Lexus decides to roll them out to vehicles since it’s not available to me yet. He has very little in that video on changes other than the Lexus icons staying on the left during CarPlay which we knew was coming and the compass showing in the HUD during Nav use.

I have the compass and CarPlay dock with 2151. I imagine if the they had one code base that covered all models, the package would be quite large and I am not sure how much storage is allocated on board for software updates.

For some things sure. There are 8 or so pieces of software listed by version. Things like Nav and voice recognition are probably completely common among all the models.

My 2022 NX350 just had nav update to 2070 but my 2023 RX 350 still is 2050. Any comments?

in CarPlay, Apple Maps can display on HUD via navigation and this is for sure. However, Apple does not open this door to any 3rd party navi apps. I don't try this on android auto but I believe google maps can display on HUD in android auto. anyone who can have a try will find the answer.

I tested Google maps with Android Auto and it does not display the directions in the HUD. It will on the multifunction display but not in the HUD.

I got a notification that a software update was available in my 2023 RX. It took about 30 minutes to install. Now I have 2170. CarPlay has the “resize” button in the top left, now. Unfortunately, I no longer get a battery life indicator because of it.

Got new update, but no love for Android Auto with the re-size and access to Lexus buttons... wondering why they would leave Android Auto
without that

I'm also annoyed by this.

I wonder if Android Auto keeps the buttons on the left in the new Tacoma, which was supposedly the first Toyota/Lexus with the persistent left side buttons.

The update arrived to our 2023 RX 350 this morning. OTA update proceeded uneventfully. Checked the Apple Car Play screen and the new side panel was there. Haven't poked around the rest of the screens.
