For whose who still look for a rack option for your RXs with pano roofs. Thule rack worked for me. Forgive the car's appearance. It is the middle of the pollen season in New England.

I'm so happy to hear this works for pano roofs.

Is that the Wing Bar Edge in Black?

It might be too close for comfort if I were to add a Thule Box on top....

We are looking to install a crossbar on nrx350h pano roof. So Lexus says that is not available BUT doesn't say why. The common knowledge that roof panel opening action hits (interferes) with the cross bar we know that, but a simple geometric arrangement resolves the problem. I've contacted a much reliable Lexus service agent and indeed it is not available and there are many requests for that. As an unbelievable as it seems he informed me that a client had installed a Mazda 3 roof bar that Fit on his RX500! ... but I not sure if it would fit on RX350? (I guess yes). But I am wondering if all information out there is clear and Legal.

Unless there are mechanical caveats with the panoramic roof design that may affect roof rigidity, premature sealing failure on panoramic roof and/or increased vibrations that would cause unforeseen issues to the car, the Lexus's engineers let this pass ... or Lexus corp has decided to be quiet. Like any other vehicle the Lexus ones will be subject to all and any user conditions and may be under extreme temperature variation, carrying or towing loads...and maybe not be in a garage. I am afraid that this may place Lexus owners in risk to void warranty or getting into expensive repairs in case there is potential roof damage due top loading.

Should Lexus formalize this condition and properly inform users why? Lexus must justify why the car can have side railings but not to install a cross bar. Just be clear Lexus, please.

I don't feel confident making the decision to install an elevated and third part cross bar without Lexus advice. How could this be accomplished?

No, not have an applicable part number is all that's necessary.

You buy a third party cross bar that its manufacturer says fits and install it. Others in this thread have done just that and people do this for all kinds of vehicles. Some even prefer third party bars because they provide special mounts that can be attached for things like bicycles.

I don't have a pano roof so I can't speak from experience. What I would recommend is to go to a local business that is a distributor and has the right attachments in house (sometimes they don't), often they rep several brands. Ask them to try out one and do the test. They will be happy to do so. My experience has been with RackAttack and they were good like this, if in stock they will try it out.

I have the Thule rack on my vehicle and it looks like there is plenty of clearance, but it would have to be tested.

Just food for thought.
