Default Why can't I lock my vehicle from the outside while it's running?

It is absolutely insane that I am not allowed to exit the vehicle while it's running and lock the door behind me with the key fob. I've driven multiple non-Lexus vehicles built over the past 5-10 years with this basic functionality. Can anyone help me understand why it is unavailable in my 65k luxury SUV?

I'm not going to use the physical key or roll the windows down (are you kidding me) it is absurd to accept that as a workaround. Even immediately restarting remotely with the fob after exiting is an inconvenience because I still have to manually reconnect carplay every start, even if the phone remains in the car I get the "retry" connection pester screen every time. Can this be fixed with a firmware update because it really needs to be like immediately. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

Because you could lock someone inside and kill them for example in a garage or other enclosed space.

If Lexus owners are as dumb as Lex2k, just build in a 10 minute limit like remote start. I AM ASKING FOR NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN WHAT REMOTE START ALREADY DOES, USE YOUR BRAIN PLEASE

I occasionally remote start so I can condition the cabin before entering the vehicle on extremely cold/hot days when it has sat off for hours.

I have no need to keep the vehicle on if it’s already conditioned and I am running into a store or appointment.

If I was going in to a store and a passenger was remaining in the vehicle and wanted to use the stereo or HVAC then I would simply leave the key with them. They can lock/unlock the vehicle with the power door locks — no need for me to use the fob.

My original question remains: why do you need this feature?

For what it’s worth, your posts come across as aggressive and combative. If it continues I’ll end up adding you to my block list. I know you don’t care about me, and that’s fine; I just wanted to offer you the perspective, on the chance it wasn’t your intent. I wouldn’t be surprised if others feel similar to me, and then you’ll end up yelling at clouds with no one listening. :-)

It's a 65 thousand dollar luxury vehicle. By coming here I was hoping to learn more about the car than your reading comprehension

You wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? You're missing the part about treating people with dignity and respect. May want to look into that.
