Default Glove box fit and finish question

Fit and finish type question here. Does anybody else's glove box seem to have some give to it when it's closed? Meaning, when closed if you push "up" on it does it have some flex like a door that doesn't fit perfect in its latch. Everything else about the cabin is tight, no movement etc., but the glove box is different. Seems very un-Lexus like!

My RX is firm. Wouldn't want it any tighter.

If they are too tight that’d be hard to get latched when closing.

Perhaps that roll of $20s is preventing full closure? <---joking

Long as it doesn't rattle (ours doesn't) a little 'give' is OK. Our RX has that bit of play, same as many of our past cars, but with our hand released the glovebox is flush/aligned and it doesn't move when driving.

When closing, mine latches securely but even after latching I can push up and it has about another 1/4” of play. I believe my last RX did the same thing. It latches securely and does not rattle. I suspect this design allows for more closing and latching tolerance rather than having to be exact which can be problematic for flexible plastic that expands and contracts with temperature.

I think it is fine as long as it closes flush and does not rattle.

yes it does close flush and no rattle. It's a tight tolerance so no issues therr was just surprised

Mine has slight play after it's latched, but that's the design.
