Default Scratch near hood

Hello everyone, someone walked past my 2023 RX and dragged something across the front of the car causing a large scratch on the plastic area before the hood. I tried NUfinish but that didn’t work (I knew that was a Hail Mary). I wanted to see if anyone had a similar problem and had any suggestions. Thanks.

The good news is it’s on the plastic. Consequently, I would look at a mobile bumper repair company to come out and fix it. I’ve seen them work magic with some simple airbrushing techniques.

Very luck it wasn't hood, I would just have that plastic piece taken off and resprayed. don't blend. Since it plastic it like bumper regardless will not be 100% match and since it new they should be able to get it right.
Shouldn't be to expensive to fix 500 maybe..

If you want to attempt fixing it yourself, here's a video.

ChrisFix has a procedure, too.

The main thing is to BUILD UP the paint repair to make it 'proud' of the surface, then sand/polish it smooth. If you get a good match of paint color (paintscratch.com or automotivetouchup.com guarantee theirs) it will be hardly noticeable.

Default Update

I thought I’d give an update. I swung by my Lexus dealer and showed them the scratch. The person in charge of body work said that the entire front end would have to come off, the part that was scratched would have to be changed out, the cameras and sensors would have to be recalibrated (there may have been some other things but I can’t remember). He ballparked an estimate at $2500-$3000.

I went with option two which was letting him buff it and use touch up paint. I tipped him $20 and I’ll learn to live with it.

That car was keyed, that wasn't a "walk by" at the mall or anything - it was intentional. The country is full of vermin who would do something like that to a nice car, class envy is actually a badge of honor for many people. Its the reason I own a beater car which I take to certain malls when I go to them.
