Default Does dash or app tell you when key fob battery is low?

Does anyone know if the dash or the app notify you when the key fob battery is low? My 2008 LS460 warned me on the dash.

Not sure about the dash (our RX is just a year old) but the app shows the battery health of the FOB, as a lighter green than the 'good' maintenance. This MAY indicate that it is still good.

I don't think that the app actually indicates FOB battery charge...look at the disclaimer at the bottom.

I have 2 key fobs and a key card. I wonder if the app displays the most recent one that was present in the car. In my LS, the car was what sensed the low battery so which ever one was with the driver was the one that was low.

From the manual...

Electronic key battery depletionThe standard battery life is 1 to 2 years. (The card key battery life is about a year and a half.)

If the battery becomes low, an alarm will sound in the cabin when the hybrid system is stopped.

Change it once annually and never worry about it. I do it every New Years Day for both our cars.

Good advice. It just happened to me. I tried to open the door, but none of them would unlock. I finally used the Lexus app to open the driver side door, but when I tried to start the car, it gave me a message indicating it did not detect my key. I went and bought a new battery for the key fob and all went back to normal. I did not get an alarm or notification that the battery was low. From now up, I am changing my battery every year. BTW, my car is a year old (July 2023).

Did you happen to check the screen in Post 2 B4 changing the battery? Just wondering....

But yeah, a notification would be nice rather than a passive app that you need to LOOK at.

Back in the day, I could carry ignition and door keys for 4 cars in my key ring. They were always at hand.

Now that modern cars are started with FOBs, we would need either cargo pants or a backpack to carry enough for all the cars...

I did, but I dońt recall if a green checkmark was there. Nothing jumped at me to indicate the battery was low.

It is also part of the 15k/18 months service. Says the same for 30k/36 months service. I always forgot to demand this on my 2010 RX 350. I never thought they did it. After about 10 years, the battery needed to be replaced about once every 8 to 12 months, and there was a warning on the dash when I turned the car off.
