Wiper arm damaged by car wash covered under warranty?
Does anybody know if the wiper arm is covered under warranty? I have a rx350 sport and the wiper arm got bent from the car wash so the blade doesn’t touch the window (and the car wash has no responsibility for it). I also have the warranty that you can purchase so wasn’t sure if that would cover it either. Thanks in advance!!!

Warranties cover repairs due to defects or premature part failure.
Damage caused by the owner or external forces are not covered.
Depending on the extent of the damage, it may be possible to bend the wiper arm back. Have you tried that?

Did someone not make sure the automatic wipers were turned off before they went in the car wash?

You can look up the part number and possibly replace it yourself.

(Sounds like driver error to me.)

I don't understand nowlen's "Duh" response. Nothing wrong with asking elsewhere because let's face it, some dealers will lie or provide incorrect information. Happens all of the time.
It wouldn't be covered because as mentioned it wasn't from a defect. I tried very hard to get Lexus to cover my front camera that got hit my a rock and cracked it. They wouldn't budge.

Why waste their time? Because I'm not you. The dealer did actually try with Lexus and actually tried to say it was defective so it was worth a shot. The dealer told me even if it had actually been defective Lexus still wouldn't have covered it and would have made any excuse not to cover it. I had Ford easily cover something similar under warranty before so again why not try?

I don't know, ethics? Morality? Being as bad as some dealers are?

ok buddy.
Look, there was 0 proof a rock had actually hit the camera. That was just the assumption. For all I know the lens was defective and cracked under any kind of stress. They are cheap plastic lenses. Even the dealer said the way it looked was very odd a one in a million shot rock hit it and nowhere else around it. But ok you keep doing you.
