But the tests are not done in real life driving and when testing, the turbo doesn't come into play, so they can show the EPA the GREAT mileage it gets.
People would NEVER buy a 4cyl for today's driving especially considering the size and weight of the vehicles, so they must add turbos.
Small cars for urban driving can & do alright, but that's about it!

A little sad that the V6 is gone. This is one reason that I got a 2020 RX and my wife just got the 2022 4Runner....to keep the non turbo V6 with dual injection system.
I hope that the Toyota/Lexus reliability stay for the long term with the turbo4.
Agree that between premium fuel and anything less than tame driving habits, and any $ advantage will be gone.

Well, it's appearing the rumors are probably true that Lexus is doing away with the v6 in the RX. As for the EV's I know (8) people with them, and (3) got rid of theirs. Two were the Chevy Volt, and the other was a Porsche Taycan.
All had mileage distance issues. My brother had the Taycan and his driving style with a sports car eats-up battery power, so he traded for a hybrid BMW. With that being said, it is important to change your driving style for those 20-30min charging stops if you're traveling. The (5) people that kept and love their EV's were all Tesla's. By no means I'm pro Tesla this is just an observation. I agree with other posts here to have a second non-EV vehicle for trips or rent one until the battery tech gets better and more charging station locations.

If there was no V6 anymore I would just buy the Rx hybrid instead. That wouldn't make much difference to me and there probably won't be much price difference in the hybrid. I probably would make the decision though to use regular gas in the hybrid because the premium gas again offsets a lot of the cost savings of the hybrid.

The regular RX use regular but use 30% more fuel. I think (at least for me here in Canada) that the hybrid is still the best.

Why keep this such a deep dark secret. Seems to me more factual info would benefit Lexus customers. We're talking 2023 not some future flying SUV powered by solar energy.

I have a question.. I curently have a BMW X5, and as a Senior its a stretch getting in and out of it. Part of it is that the distance from the door sill to the seat is more than most cars.. I was curious of those that have an RX do you "older" folks have any problems AND is ground clearance "reasonable " as in not high? Where I live in Missouri I have no Lexus dealer, when I had my Lexus ES, the Toyota dealer here serviced it for me, I assume they would service any 2023 I bought in St Louis or Kansas City?.....And lastly then I wont trouble you , well tonight anyway.lol.... They say it will be announced (debut) is May 31st.. any idea when actual production will start and when they might be shipped to the dealers? They way things are going I wont live long enough to "get in line"?? Thanks in advance.....

Chiefsfan (sorry for that). I am trading in the Mrs X5 and am so glad to move this finicky, unreliable brand unless u r leasing, for an RX350L 2022. We will be picking it up on Friday. I will let you know how it comforts her and I as a retired couple. I have a 2003 225K mi GS300 and still runs like a top along with an LC and njoying both soon to be all three.
