Default Will premium fuel be required on 2023 RX

Seems for all the great news on the 5th generation 2023 RX, no statements are made for the required fuel octane rating required. Like most 4 cylinder turbo charged engines (similar to NX), the recommendation is only premium (92 octane).

If true, they need to come clean and state that. Do not want to pay the additional costs for premium and opt to purchase 2022 end of year.
Thanks for any feedback.
David.

Default New 2023 RX

You may not know these but wanted to ask:
1. If the 2023 is 4g dependent, will you be able to upgrade the car to 5g when 4g is terminated? Can not on the 2016 I own.
2. Does all RX models require premium gas?
3. Is the new RX 350h a plug-in model or does the gas engine recharge the batteries?
Thanks.

Current RX 350 runs on regular. You'll hear debates on why premium may be better blah blah blah. On the new gen, there will be a plug in as well as a conventional hybrid I believe. 4G 5G no idea sorry.

Thanks for your reply. What is a conventional hybrid? Does the gas engine recharge the batteries like the Toyotas?

Not sure how it works but it's like any Toyota hybrid I presume. Those with hybrids will jump in here.

Thanks.
A "standard" hybrid will recharge itself and does not have a plug, and it looks like the 350h will be a typical hybrid, just like any other Toyota hybrid. It is my understanding that there will be a plug-in version, I believe called the RX 450h+.

As for upgradable from 4g to 5g, I would be very surprised if such an upgrade ever comes about. Pure speculation on my part but I would be shocked. New features on new models are part of what drives sales, even features like updated communications electronics. Longevity is a little different this time as 5g isn't replacing 4g the same way 4g replaced the old 3g standard since the range of 5g is so much shorter.

Regarding the premium fuel question, it may be "recommended" depending on the engine, but many members here run regular fuel in vehicles with that "premium" recommendation, and none have reported any issues. The specs Lexus posted show some models will have a turbo (which likely necessitates premium) but they do not show a turbo for the 350h. So merely my best guess is that the 350h will take regular.

I know this doesn't help much as there is still considerable speculation on the new models. We should know more in the next few months.

Thanks. I saw that.
What I am trying to find out if the 450h has to be plugged in to be recharged or does the gas engine recharge the batteries.

Anyone own a 450h?

My understanding is the 450h will actually be the 450h+ which is the plug-in. The 350h will be the 'standard' hybrid similar to the Toyota Highlander & Sienna

I own a 2020 RX450h. From 2022 and below, they do not plug in.
