But 5600 lb. cars don't call for a 4 cyl. engine, turbo or not. You need a V6 or a V8 to move that kind of weight down the road with acceleration and torque. IMHO.
Lol of course for bikes, but yes totally agree with a 6 or 8 for this vehicle. I've had a 4 cyl before and don't like it...sounds terrible and it seems too wimpy IMO.

Quite frankly, this was one of the reasons we migrated from the NXh with the 4 cylinder. We probably would have purchased a Highlander Platinum hybrid if not for the same displacement 4 cylinder (and more weight). Well that and some wind noise around the driver's window, plus lack of lumbar adjustment for the passenger. Anyway, I don't think its a stretch to imagine the next RXh will have a 4 cylinder since they have done that with the current gen Highlander. One more reason to stick with the 2022 if you are going for the hybrid.

Unless I find out otherwise about the drivetrains, I'll be sticking with the 2022 for now.

I really prefer my Wazootie "9000" with 675 horsepower. But just a personal thing I suppose.

Any update when something offical will be released?

Also any word if the update will be more like the new NX? or the new LX with the dual screens?

I'm patiently waiting because I'll have to make a decision when the 2022 arrives.

Personally I will replace my 2018 450H with 2023 450H+. If NX 450+ is any indication, the 450H+ RX should be awesome.

Surprised to see the all new LX doesnt have the single extra large infotainment system like the new NX. Hopefully the new RX does.

https://autos.yahoo.com.tw/amphtml/l...104329540.html

Japanese media announced All V-6 motors will be dropped for upcoming RX, I don't know if this applies to North America market or just Japan and Taiwan.

I google translated the article in case they deny you access

With the release of Lexus NX's major facelift, RX is also preparing to welcome a new generation of models, built on a new generation platform, and the appearance and interior will be fully updated. Japanese media have recently grasped the latest power information. The new generation RX will have 4 powers. The specifications are RX350, RX350h, RX450h+ and RX500h. According to the news of the Japanese media, the big facelift RX will completely cancel the V6 engine and switch to four-cylinder power. The specific configuration is similar to the new generation NX. The RX350 is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo; the RX350h is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine plus On the electric motor; RX450h+ uses a 2.5-liter engine plus an electric motor and a lithium battery to form a PHEV plug-in hybrid system. In addition, the biggest difference between the new generation RX and NX is the 500h model. The RX500h is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine plus an electric motor, and is equipped with a new Direct4 four-wheel control technology. The system can be adjusted in different operating environments. For front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive mode. The new generation of Lexus RX will be equipped with the GA-L platform in the Group’s latest TNGA, with a body size of 4,895x1,900x1,710mm and a wheelbase of 2,800mm. Compared with the current version, the length, width and wheelbase will increase. Will bring more excellent riding space. In terms of appearance, the appearance image released by the Japanese media is different from the previous more exaggerated shape, it looks like an enlarged version of the new generation NX, with a larger area of the water tank cover, with sharp headlights, and the side of the car. The lines are more complex, but create a more muscular silhouette.

Hopefully we still get some version of a V6 in the new RX. I know in other markets the current RX has a 4 cyl which we don't get in North America.

Different distances and way of driving, if it comes with a 4 it will be a turbo, but I hope that it doesn't the vehicle is too heavy for that.

I completely agree. The Highlander Hybrid we test drove right before purchasing our current RXh was surprisingly good on the level with the 4 cylinder engine, but it struggled with grades. It ultimately managed the grades during our test drives, but it did so with a lot of effort. This was one of our disappointments after 5 years with the NX hybrid.
