I am planning to reach out to Lexus of Seattle since Bellevue pulled the same on me.
I reached out to all three of the Seattle area dealerships. I believe Bellevue said they'd sell me a vehicle (I live in North Idaho), but they had all their add ons. One of the other two, I think TacomaFife, stated they will only sell vehicles to local Washington residents because they want to keep inventory for them. I wasn't interested in Bellevue's (forced) extras (I really do not like the blinking third brake light on other vehicles and don't want it on mine). Not sure that helps others - likely won't be an issue for 1Louder though.

Thank you to everyone that has chimed in on ther thread. Definitely helpful!

Trying to help my mother purchase a 350h with specific options, but her local dealer is still playing the mandatory dealer add-on game.

Assuming I can get her a car at MSRP, any other hidden fees I should be aware of? I know there will be some sort of Dealer Doc fee, but amount should I expect for that? (I saw one post noted $699.). Thanks again!

My dealer fee was $599 but of course they try to sell you all the add-ons...window tint, clear bra, extended warranty, full glass coverage etc. I just added my car insurance (Amica) for the new RX and the full glass coverage was about 50% of what the dealer wanted (over 5 years) ~$1500. The dealer is claiming that i'ts about $2500 for a new windshield with calibration. The full glass coverage includes all glass, mirrors and lights on the car with no deductible.

Lexus dealer in Houston has $300 DMV fee, $149 doc fee, $23.75 inspection fee. I don't think those are negotiable. Will vary depending on location. The $1150 destination charge is also non-negotiable.
Everything else is dealer add-on: Window tint, tire nitrogen, illuminated cargo sills, side puddle lamps, floor liners, etc. You may or may not be able to remove them. Most dealers are still adding on some of these items.

I asked my dealer to find me what I want and within a week he was informed of such a car being built. It just arrived yesterday. The whole process only took three weeks probably because what I want is very typical for the area, I.e. 350 Premium AWD.

Did they gave you a date when you picked that one? I did the same. They told me late April.. Hoping it's on time. Also went for premium but was looking for the 14" infotainment display.

I "ordered" the 350h in the middle of February. It turned out that they had in production the color and interior I wanted but at the premium plus level, which was more than I wanted to spend. I figured what the heck, I'm an old guy what's a few thousand more. It will arrive by ship at Jacksonville on 3.14. Since it's only 150 miles to the dealer from the Port, I should get the car before the end of the month.

Good for you. I also ended up buying "more car" than I would have bought in more normal times. I'm enjoying it. You will too.

Default 350h Prem +

Got my car about 2 weeks ago from a deposit on a dealer allocation. It took 6 weeks from deposit to delivery. Paid MSRP with no dealer addons which I thought was good for a hybrid. Dealer was 100 miles from home but they delivered to me via flatbed. Local dealer wouldn't budge from $2900.00 in BS interior and exterior coating addons. Retired my 2008 LS460.

I Paid $849.00 doc fee (in VA) but no dealer addons, 3 other dealers were $899.00 This fee varies in each state.

Thanks to everyone that chimed in on the Dealer Doc fee. Very helpful data points!

She will be purchasing the car in Southern California, in case anyone else has geographic-specific info to share.

Still need to get the dealer to drop the silly “mandatory” add-on gimmick!

I got good news today about my RX 350h.

Back on Saturday (March 11), I received an email from the dealership that my order with Lexus Canada was still pending fulfillment. This was the same email I got from mid January and I wasn’t expecting any new updates this time.

Today, My salesperson texted me that there is one arriving mid May and I was next in line. The previous person cancelled their order and I was next. I’m located in Western Canada (Vancouver).

Arrow 350h purchase

We started looking for an RX 350h in early Feb at our local dealers north of Atlanta. Some play games with ADM and most mandatory add-ons. The dealer closest to us (bought our 2010 RX 450h there) had the least BS. They sell at MSRP. Wouldn't do an order but put us "on the list" for one based on a preference list for colors and trim. No deposit required until they locate one. Over the next few weeks they had cars come up (non hybrid or 500h) but passed. A few weeks later a 350h close to our spec became available due to buyer backing out. They offered it to us and we took it. Came off the truck yesterday and we pick it up end of the week. Two dealer add-ons (done during prep) that we wanted (tint (hot summers) and interior protection (grandkids, dogs, etc.)) were over priced, no surprise, but got them to come down a lot and they were honoring a $1k rebate.
