Obviously not really answering the question you are asking, I doubt many on here were able to test drive the vehicle b4 entering into a purchase transaction. Much less both for that matter. Wife drove RX 2013 model for 10 yrs so no need to test drive for us.
Good luck w whichever decision you go with.

I tend to agree with Daryl. My current and previous RX are both hybrids, and I haven't driven one that's not since my first one, 1999. But I have no doubt that if performance is what you're really considering, then you should go tomorrow and grab that turbo. Good luck, either way.

FWIW our 2023 RX350 non-hybrid was at the dealership for some work, and we got a 2022 RX450h as a loaner. Understand not apples to apples but I did not notice any difference in performance.

What about longevity, I have read turbo engines don't last as long as comparable non-turbo models.(like the old V-6 or the 4cyl hybrid). Is that turbo noisier?

Yes but the 22 hybrid has a 6 cylinder

I was thinking of the V-6 non turbo (2022) or the 4cyl non turbo hybrid (2023) just from a long term durability stand point when compared to the 2023 4cyl turbo. Strictly based on performance I would give the edge to the RX350 vs the hybrid. Personally the 350h is plenty for me though.

For me, the 350h has instant response when it comes to driving around town. The turbo might have more horsepower in the end but when driving in every day traffic, the 350h is sweet!

You are correct, this was pointed out to me in another thread. My point still stands, did not notice a significant difference in performance between 2022 hybrid v6 and the 2023 turbo 4 cylinder.

I'm also 63 and I find that I no longer care about lots of things that I used to care about. I don't even care who knows that I no longer care! I'm guessing that JRey350hou just meant that gas prices/consumption is one of those things for him. I get it.

Going to be 62 next month and I could care less about my gas costs. Let’s just say I’m already retirement ready and am working just to pay for trips later.

First of all he was just being ****.. That's why I didn't really give him an answer. But the last 2 posts are rt on point w my thoughts. I was fortunate to be able to retire 2 yrs ago n gas consumption is last thing I care abt when I'm making a decision on 65k vehicle.
Out!!

One point I don't see mentioned here so far is turbo lag. The hybrid 2023 RX 350 & 500h have the electric motors that help provide instant torque when the vehicle first starts to move.

The RX 350 Turbo can have a momentary delay when the vehicle first begins to move as the turbocharger spins up to speed. This can be a bit disconcerting if you are trying to turn quickly in front of oncoming traffic. Once the turbo is fully engaged, then the RX 350 should accelerate a bit faster than the 350h. If you have a more relaxed style of driving this may not be a factor for you.

UPDATE: I managed to take a test drive in the RX 350 Turbo today and I was surprised that I didn't notice much turbo lag. I found the acceleration sufficient for my needs as an old man with young aspirations. As a result I gave up on the idea of acquiring an RX 500h in favor of a 350 Luxury. I was not expecting to be that impressed after watching so many YouTube reviews panning the base engine's performance.

Have owned several RX’s over the years and am satisfied with the performance of the 6 cylinder. Wasn’t pleased to hear about the new turbo 4 replacing the 6 cylinder but reading some of the input here sounds like performance is still acceptable. My wife drives a newer Honda CRV with a turbo 4 and Honda has had an issue with this engine not warming up for quickly in cold weather this causing condensation in the oil and water buildup in the oil. This is especially true for short distance drives. Any thoughts on this with those currently driving the Lexus turbo 4?

Has the transmission changed on the new RX models……..old surging issues, etc.
