You make a good point, but we’re still not back to business as usual. A friend of mine is having speed bumps with his new BMW. It’s just the nature of the beast right now. Hopefully inventories will improve, competition will return and the premium experience will again be a selling feature.

Well the Lexus info in post 96 says that is going to happen. Getting people their second key after the fact is pricey so they want to supply two keys as soon as possible and not drag it out increasing costs.

The lack of a second key would never make me turn against the Lexus brand as I have had flawless performance from every Lexus I have owned. I can not say that for owned Mercedes, Range Rover, Ford, Honda and others. I knew there would not be a second key for my RX before I purchased. well worth the inconvenience.

Agreed. It’s a temporary supply chain annoyance, not a deal breaker.

What happens if you lose your one and only key? It is not like AAA can hotwire it.

‘I asked my dealer and he said they carry a few FOBs in stock just in case this happens. They would sell you another FOB.

Use the marginally reliable digital key if you have it or call an Uber.

I have my doubts it will be a “goodwill” key but it sounds good.

Goodwill means squat if you are stranded at the trailhead.

I admit that it would be nice to have both keys but it is not happening and when you go to the boonies, do not forget you only have one key.

But if you do not have a second key at home, what then? (BTW, we often hike close to home, whatll living in the mountains).

Don't even have the car yet after four months. And I shudder at the thought of the digital key due to reports of its inconsistency. I can only imagine how much it costs to replace the physical key so hopefully the digital version will get better.

Then you are fretting over nothing. You'll get one FOB. How often do you lost FOBS, in reality? And the Digital Key is reliable enough for all but long trips.
