This time I bought there because while there was no negotiation, there were no better deals out of town either. And they had the car I wanted, albeit with more options than I usually buy.

Why aggravate yourself? I avoid the dealer for all but warranty work.

Got my second fob on Friday because of my whining (which I didn't enjoy doing, but I did want a second fob). Had a nice chat with the service advisor, he's pretty sick of the issue, too.
Moments later he came and dragged me to his office to look out the window. A local woman had just lost the only fob to her new RX, and they were unloading it from the flat bed tow truck she had to call. Kaput.

When ours arrives it stays on the lot until there are two fobs. Like I learned in contract law, "Partial performance is no performance at all".

The dealer won’t let it sit on its floor plan and pay interest while you wait for a key.

Well sucks to be the dealer. I bet they will figure out how to get me a second key.

The dealer will sell it if you do not go through with the sale. It is up to you.

If you need 2 keys right away, just buy a key in the aftermarket for $160 and get the dealer to throw in free programming. Given the cost of the car, an additional $160 for what will eventually be your third key, isn't too bad.

Yea I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for another key whatsoever. And I get the cost of the car thing, yes, but this is principal. BTW, I don't know if anyone has had much luck with the "Digital" key, but I am not. So far, it is NOT an option to a real Keyfob, for me anyway. Going to get with the Tech Specialist this week at the dealership to investigate further.

Didn't read every post, so if this has been covered I apologize. But, is the Digital Key considered to a 2nd key? Or should one still get the 2nd physical key? Asking because we're entertaining jumping from the '23 Turbo PPlus to a '24 Hybrid PPlus. Our dealer has an unclaimed 350H coming in, so we may just claim it.

My understanding of the digital key is that you can use it just as you would a keyfob, so yes it can be considered a second or third key.

Frustrating that your answer was already here but you want people to type it again. The car gets two key fobs but the second key could take up to a year to get (will change eventually to two on delivery but no idea when). If you have the digital key option, then you can also use the digital key over and above the 2 fobs.

The vehicle is supposed to have two physical key FOBS. Most (all?) of us 2023RX buyers got one FOB and a promise for one more. The Digital Key and any “shared” Digital Key recipients (if and only if the car has the Digital Key factory option) is in addition to the two physical FOBS.

Thanks for taking the time to type it again. Much appreciated.

I filed a complaint with BBB. Will see what their response is.
