I think a better way to look at it is the factory finally has enough fobs to end this issue. Logistically it makes sense that there is a small overlap with getting existing owners keys and new factory cars keys. Hopefully your fob is on the way.

I opened a case as they kept pushing my second key back - with no indication at all when I would get it. Long story short they still are having problems fulfilling the backlog. The think it will be August for me (took delivery in April). And will work with me to get an exception if there are further delays. It's more annoying than anything else for me. Tried the digital key just for grins and it worked - at least once. .

They're ordering a new blade and will have to cut it. They have no idea where it went but never tried to claim they gave it to me.

I think a big part of the problem is how Lexus dealers tend to operate - strongly transactional, and purely focused on how soon/fast they ensure that money changes hands. They never mentioned to many/most that they will only deliver only one key, when we were considering the car. They will lie, cheat and hide on any fact to ensure that sales goes through, which is what they did for most of us, who got only 1 key without knowing the wait for 2 keys. The dealer I bought from made no effort to expedite the 2nd key and instead they tried to "sell" me a third key asap, instead of getting me the 2nd key I had already paid for 6 months ago (thankfully Lexus corporate got me the 2nd key couple weeks later). Lexus seems to have no customer focus enforced on to the dealers, which is the crux of Lexus-corporate problem - and my experience with Lexus dealers have been generally abysmal relative to other Luxury car dealers (Audi, Infiniti) I've worked with in the past.

So for my service needs, I polled on Reddit about people's experience with the local Lexus dealers in my area, and picked specific Service Advisors to ask for, to ensure quality and trust. It was not the dealer I bought from, to whom I will never go back to again.

Every dealer wants to follow the $ and collect it asap. Our RX was not yet built when we purchased. I called a few times for a status update but we were in no rush happily running up miles on the car we traded. Then one day, I get a call at 4PM - your car is here so please come to pick it up tonight😨 Needless to say, I didn't get there that night.

Latest update from June from Toyota documents show that they will start delivering vehicles with 2 key fob in July. There has been a couple of NX owners getting 2 fobs at delivery in the past few weeks.

I receive a letter from Lexus telling me to schedule an appointment with my dealer to get my 2nd fob. They did not know that I got mine 2 weeks ago.

FYI: Just bought 2024 Lexus RX350. Delivered with one smart key fob. Promised 2nd in six months. I felt uneasy having just one key. So, I took a chance and purchased a key from an online shop for $220. My Lexus dealer successfully programmed the key for $175. It works.

There is no way you should have to pay that much money for a key they should provide WITH the car. This whole thing makes me so angry. Will never buy another Lexus.

Paid $78K for this RX I should have gotten 2 key fobs. Did not know until car had been paid for that there was only 1 fob. They told me to use the connect app - well, I tried that and got stranded because I did not have a phone signal where I had parked. No more Lexus products for me!

All you have to do is raise enough heck with the dealer and you'll get your second fob.

Not true! We have repeatedly complained!!! Took it up with corporate and after one month back and forth with them they now say we will have fob in 2-3 weeks. Stay tuned.....I'll let you know if it actually shows up!! Our dealer did nothing for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Santa Barbara CA

They have a fob to sell but not a one to provide you that was owe to you? That is fishy. I would raise hell with Corporate and demand a refund. Fobs are readily available now but Toyota and Lexus may be providing them to new owners and fill the back order slowly. What a company!
