Just empty promises. I was told a month ago that a "postcard" was being mailed that week to let me know to come into the dealership to pick up my second key. I've yet to see a postcard, and now my salesman claims to have never said that.
I don't even have empty promises. Add to that the garbage entertainment system user interface... color me very disappointed. I only hope I can stop a few friends from considering Lexus.
I bought an RX on 1 Dec and was told it would be a couple months, then told April. I contacted the dealer today and he sent me a copy of an internal memo that says maybe this summer. I was patient but that is starting to fade.
Key fob? I am still waiting for a definitive date on when my RX 350h is getting here - even if only with one fob. Dealer has no idea whatsoever, three months in from the order. I just hope our current vehicle lasts. But each day is a dollar less on resale.

Someone told me, I can not say, that orders are filled when dealer gets inventory and the do the best they can to match up what you want with what they have coming in. This would mean there really are no orders, per se.
If this is so, might want to think about what item on your order could be holding things up.

In Canada, it’s a bit easier to match up the vehicles with the orders as we don’t have specific individual options to add on. It’s either Package A, B,C or D with the exterior and interior color.
I was on the waiting list waiting for Lexus Canada to fulfill the order, however a customer in front of me cancelled their order (same package and color combo) and i was the next customer in line.

I told the dealer what I wanted, then he got notification that something very close to what I wanted would be built the following week, and I jumped at it. It was just a matter of luck that what I wanted became quickly available (probably because I ordered what's most popular in my area).
The fact you only temporarily get one key would never have stopped me in my pursuit of my RX350h. Not even for a second. 😜
I guess some would rather wait for the second key fob and not take delivery waiting for the completed vehicle sitting somewhere for that second important key.

same here for my red 350h except it was a premium plus, which was more than I wanted to spend. But I bought it anyway.
I was just at the local Lexus dealer to check out their new RZ 450e. While there I asked the sales manager when I would get the 2nd key fob and he showed me an internal memo from Lexus that came in this morning showing when the various models would get their 2nd fob. It clearly states that the RX will not get one until "after September".
The RZ is hot though.
This is starting to get ridiculous,. They told me it would be April and here we are. They should at least be trying to mitigate it by giving us digital key set up or something but they tell me it's not an option for my premium. Lord help us if we lose our key...
