One feature I always loved about Lexus were the door side storage bins that pulled out for better view/access. It appears the new RXs, and most of the Lexus line has now gone to a much cheaper "static" cupholder type pocket. Is that true in the new RX, or is it now an upgrade in one of the packages?

Also liked the wood steering wheels, but every video I've seen of the new RXs has leather wrap. anyone get a '23 with wood wheel?

I am on the waiting list for a 2023 RX 350h premium+. Interior choice is Macadamia leather and Ash Bamboo trim. To get the wood accents you must get the premium or higher. We just picked up a 2023 NX 350h which does not have the pull out feature for the front doors. While at the Lexus dealer, I sat in a 2023 RX350 and they also do not have the pull outs. Big miss here by Lexus. Not only can you store more in the pull outs like in my current 2017 RX 450h and as you stated much easier to find stuff.

Drove a new Gen 5 ultra premium 350H (here in Canada) last week and pull outs gone. Seems every generation something nice is deleted. It's called de-contenting. The excuse is they added other features. Not a nice thing. We've had gen 2, 3 and 4. Can always tell some of the nicer things go missing each time they release a new version. Yet they continue to sell them all.

The steering wheels are heated all around now, a good thing. The top surface is all leather and that's where they hide the heater wires. Wood is still on the inside of the wheel as shown above, except in the FSport.

i miss the 2nd gen's movable center console. Sad news about the fold out side pockets too. This gen 5 isnt for me at all.

Thanks for confirming. I've had it up to my eyeballs with the de-contenting. I've had many Lexus vehicles including gen 2,3,4 RXs.

I think they lost me as a customer with this gen 5. Just seems to get more Toyota-like each cycle. And I'm not even crazy about the exterior. Looks too much like a Mazda CX5 or something to me. I'll be at my dealer for service in a couple weeks, and maybe will feel different in person, but those trademark, semi-luxury features disappearing is driving me away.
