I heard when I talked to them that they were super-surprised with the interest for this car, and they were rushing it to the top of their list of projects. I think I heard they had over 40 pre-orders and that sounded significant for them. The fellow I talked to understood that the gasoline model was the majority of the volume for the car and I reminded him of that (despite owning a 350h myself).

I'm sure the fitment confirmation will come for the 350. Personally, I would just order it if I had a 350 - I would be so incredibly surprised if it did not fit, knowing my experience with previous Toyota/Lexus products. They change as little as possible from model to model. The only thing I could imagine maybe would be different is the muffler, but if the muffler on the 350 is not near the rear bumper, I would just take a risk.

Alternately, call Torklift and offer to try it for them and report back if it does fit in exchange for the ability to return the hitch (maybe even with shipping covered).

The high aftermarket interest is easily explained - you can't get a hitch from the factory.

I am still going to wait for the formal 350 acceptance. I may have to use their local installer to put it on, I don't have anyone to help me lift it into place. I wonder if I can temporarily hang it from hooks/steel wire to support it while I catch a bolt on each side, we shall see.

Sigh....Looks like they just delayed this hitch to Summer 2023 and raised the price: https://torkliftcentral.com/2023-lex...-trailer-hitch

Hopefully those who placed their preorders will still get their shipment this month.

UPDATE: I just got a hold of Torklift yesterday and preorders that were already placed were sent to the manufacturing floor as of June 21 with parts being cut on June 22. Their bet estimate was shipping now in 3-4 weeks, but they said their confidence was say up on that now that the hitches are past the design stage and in construction.

Why can't you get a factory hitch for RX5?

They don't produce cars with that option, and you can't order a car to spec - so no one is able to get cars with the factory option. That's why there is a lot of aftermarket interest here.

Have you tried using one or 2 jacks to assist with holding it up?

Well that sucks for current owners. But might be OK for me - not expecting our RX350h until Sept or Oct.

2023 RX350h
I was a pre order for a Torklift Stainless steel hitch.
Received it and installed it myself.
Good news:
no cutting or trimming needed.
kick sensor still works. Had to temporarily remove to get the hitch in place but the sensor went back into its orginal location.
Receiver is detachable and you can't view any of the hitch from behind.

Bad news:
Install was awkward and heavy to do by one person. Took me twice as long as it could have with another person.
Instructions and picture examples could have been a bit clearer. I will give them a pass since this was a very recent new model.

Overall:
Excellent product
Excellent quality
Glad I waited

Curt now lists a hitch for RX5. It looks good and the specs say it is a hidden bar design.

Did anyone purchase that?
