Has anyone got a Curt or other brand and what did someone charge for installing. $600 seems absurd for something that seems like less than an hour to install. No electric wiring just for two bikes.
Thanks for any help.
$600 to install a hitch seems a bit much. I installed a Draw-Tite on my wife's NX450h+ in about an hour or so. There are only four bolts which thread into four holes already in the frame. The Gen5 RX models are mounted in the same manner, only four threaded holes. The Draw-Tite unit for the Gen5 models is 76635. I opted for Draw-Tite, as the crossbar is hidden behind the bumper cover. The Curt hitches for both the current NX and RX models have the crossbar in full view below the bumper cover and I was not big on that look. If you don't need wiring for a trailer then, that is a fairly good choice.

Thanks for update. Can you send a pic so I can see how far it sticks out. Does it interfere with the kick sensor to open rear hatch?

Had Curt bike rack hitch on my recently traded in 2017 RX450 h and liked it because it was hidden and did not stick out from the bumper. Want to get one for my 2024 RX 350h. If anyone has a Curt would you attach a pic from the side and rear to see what it looks like. Thanks so much.

Keep in mind that this is on a 2024 NX but, the appearance and construction of the Draw-Tite hitch for both the NX and RX is exactly the same. The receiver itself does protrude down a lot but, at least you don't have to see the crossbar, as you do with the Curt hitch.

Forgot to mention that there is some interference with the kick sensor. It still works but, you have to wiggle your foot around a bit. I could always relocate the sensor or go with the other small version sensor. Since I generally just use the fob or the rear hatch switch anyway, it has not been a big deal.

Just installed the Draw-Tite hitch on my 2024 RX350 Ultra Luxury. You do need 2 people and I had to remove one of the muffler brackets to be able to get the hitch in place, but not that difficult.

Just had my local Lexus dealership install a Curt hitch used just for a bike rack. Lost my kick sensor ability. Don't use it often but how hard to move the sensor?

No. I have the TorkLift hitch and my kick sensor still works great.

Might be worth to get clarification from them on the "torque all bolts before each use" that is stated in that manual.

I am sure that this is just a "CYA" thing. I have had hitches on all of my vehicles for the past 30+ years, most of which I have installed myself. I have never re-torqued any of the hitch mounting bolts. I haven't lost a hitch/trailer yet......

Default Wiring needed to connect tow harness

Hi,

Adding a tow hitch to my non-tow prep package 2024 RX 350h. Going to use it as an activity mount. Would still like to have the wiring to add a light accessory. I have the tow harness with the flat connector to the 4 port white female connector. Also have the power convertor to be installed at the same time as the hitch. However, i don't see the cable that runs from the converter to the lower rear section to connect the tow harness. Should this be here or will it have to be installed? I've seen conflicting opinions about it's presence. Also, I'm not seeing a part number to order this cable in the Lexus guides. figure I'm missing something here.

Thanks!
