I couldn’t figure out how to get a digital key to work. Contacted Lexus and was told my VIN doesn’t have digital key access. Does that sound right? I thought all models have it. I have 2023 RX 350 hybrid Premium. Bummed!

 

Is it on your window sticker like this:

 

No and now I feel like an idiot. I thought it was included because the dealer and I specifically talked about this car having it.

 

It's not a standard feature and it cannot be added after purchase. As suggested above, consult your vehicle window sticker to know what you actually purchased.

In Canada the digital key comes at the Ultra Luxury level and up - costing about $12000 more than base.

 

The truth of the matter is that once you get the second FOB, lack of Digital Key isn’t that big of a deal. The salespeople, especially on a new model
like this, often get it wrong. And unless you have something in writing (unlikely), they are unaccountable.

You still have a great vehicle. Don’t let this minor issue ruin the experience.

As an an aside, there was a poster back in January or so who bought an FSport without the heated steering wheel and didn’t realize this until it was a done deal. Now THAT would be concerning.

 

2023 RX500H F3 - Canada - Confirmed Has It

 

I have tried 4 different iPhone with iOS 14.7 to 16.4.1 and Samsung Note 20 without any success to connect digital key. If you are using digital key, PLEASE list your phone model and have many times did you tried before it was connected?

I want to buy a phone just for digital key because there is only one key fob and I want to make a phone as backup key.

 

Are you positive you vehicle has the capability to use digital key. Does it say so on the window sticker?

 

When I picked up my RX350, the technology specialist had me download the app and the digital key connected right away.. I have an iPhone13 Max Pro. I think ggebhardt might be right that your vehicle was not equipped with that option. If it was added on your RX350, it should be one of the first few options on your window sticker.

 

It is certainly your call, but I wouldn’t buy a new phone just to use with the digital key. Mine worked and then it didn’t and it is very buggy as others have noted. I quit messing with it. You will have a second key fob soon (but wondering where the end of April letters about getting new key fobs is) hopefully.

I have never lost a key or key fob (or rendered a key fob inoperable) in 50 years of driving. I am confident if I do I can a new one fairly quickly as much of a pain as that would be.

 

If the very worst happens, your dealer will sell you another if you lost your only FOB.

 

We got the 2023 RX305h 2 weeks ago. I have tried 4 different iPhones, iOS ranging from 14.7 to 16.4.1 and also with a Samsung Note 20 without any success with Digital Key. If you have successfully paired Digital Key with your phone, which make/model are how long did it take you? I'd like to buy a phone just for digital key because we got only one key fob and I am worried that I might lost it.

Did you call Lexus USA? There must be something hung up in the central database for your VIN #, that has to be cleared out. Especially now that you have used 5 different phones.
