Asking again, sorry if I did not see your reply, but are you sure your RX has the digital key capability? Some do not. It would say on your window sticker.

I had to call Lexus support and was on the phone for like 1 hour after trying several procedures, including deleting and reinstalling the L app. I think the problem is software-related. I have iPhone 14 with latest updates.

I did the same thing and deleting the app was not the solution, in fact it makes it harder. you need to get to level 2 support, since you deleted the app they will have to reset it on there end then wait 24-48 hours to redownload key

My digital has worked in the past, tried to access it today and got this message. Just one more reason not to trust this glitchy device. Thankfully I had he key fob.

I got the message, too, twice today. But then it went away, twice, and both times the Digital Key then worked as it always has. I did not need the FOB.

I spent 2 hours today with three dealer people trying to activate the digital key with various phones. No luck.I decided I’m ok to let this percolate to see if it’s a software issue that comes to light. Anyone else with this? The Lexus App does everything else fine. Remote starting etc is ok.

I suspect it could be a cell tower issue as well.

No, the digital key works by Bluetooth, which works between two devices. In this case the car and the phone's bluetooth. Cellular does not enter into it, just like your bluetooth headphones do not require a cell connection.. No cell required. For some reason neither phone would connect...until they did. Not a satisfactory resolution. What if there was an emergency? Additionally, if a cell tower were required, what if you were in an area without cellular connection? No, cell is not required.

My guess is that there was some sort of software update today.
I’ve never been locked out with the Digital Key in about 4 months of daily usage. It’s been quirky a number of times though. I still would not got out of town without the FOB.

Thanks for that. I have not received any prompts today or in the last couple of days. My "outage" was 15 minutes. Then all of a sudden it worked. The problem with this type of thing is what if it is storming, or there is an emergency of some sort, etc. It is simply not acceptable. I once had a 1985 Corvette which had a chip in the key. The temperature outside was 95 degrees outside and the car would not start. I sold that POS. I am not putting up with this, even from Lexus. I'll return the car and get something else if the dealer cannot satisfactorily correct the problem.

“Lexus Remote Connect with Digital Key depends on factors outside of Lexus control, including an operative telematics device, a cellular connection, GPS signal, and the availability of a compatible wireless network, without which system functionality and availability may be limited or precluded.”

Well, if that is the case, and I'm assuming you got that off Lexus documentation, then the damn thing is virtually useless. I won't use it again. I was in the mall's garage so that is why it probably did not work. GPS probably does not work in a covered multi level concrete garage. Too many conditions for this to be considered remotely reliable. Having said this, why GPS should be required to start or unlock the damn car I am sure I don't know. It should work like the remote for my TV. Not be dependant on the entire technology of the western world. Jeesh!
