Digital Key Update
Now that my Digital Key has been working, I like it a lot. I open my phone app just before I start out in my car and close it when I return. Similar to how I use the phone for all sorts of stuff. Once in a while it glitches, but usually that, so far, has be remedied by closing and reopening the app. And while I’m still waiting for Lexus to software-fix the locking rear hatch button that doesn’t work with the Digital Key, I can deal with it. It's certainly not a reason to carry an extra item with me (the FOB). I will add that I do not trust the Digital Key enough to go out of town without the actual FOB, but around town I now trust the Digital Key and go FOB-less all the time. I’d like the second FOB, as most of us would, to complete the deal, but truthfully with the Digital Key and one FOB, I’m good to go. I considered this a gimmicky option that I would not have ordered, but now that I have it I can see how it’s a step forward and I like it.

2Phones
We tried to set the digital key on 2 identical iPhones. One worked but to get the second one to work we had to log into the primary account but then it removed it from the other phone. What is the key card by the way?

There is no key card for the new RX, that issue has circulated here many times now.

Does anyone know if the digital key is causing the Lexus app to eat up my phone battery charge so fast? I charged my 13 iPhone yesterday, and this evening it has only 9% charge left. 71% of that usage was the Lexus app.

Ive noticed SOME increased battery usage, but not THAT much. iPhone 14. Accordingly, I close the app when exiting the car (unless it’s a short stop) and reopen it when approaching the car. It’s taken getting used to, but now it’s no different than checking email or messages.

OK, I've read this thread, the manual(s) and watched a YouTube video from Lexus Eastern Area and am still stumped on how to activate a digital key that was shared with me. My wife is the primary driver of our new RX350 and her phone was setup by the dealer in the car when we picked up the vehicle. Since we only have one key FOB (Grrrr....) I thought that we could get around that problem by having her share a digital key with me. My phone (iPhone 14 Pro) is already paired with the car and my own user. I downloaded the Lexus App and setup my account. I used my wife's phone (also an iPhone 14 Pro) to send me a digital key. When I try to accept it the Lexus App wants me to add the car to my account. I tried to manually enter the vehicle VIN but it because the car is a "Drive Connect" vehicle it wants me to scan a QR code from the screen. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get the QR code to show up on the screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I'd close out my part of this thread with a resolution report. Today I was able to get the Digital Key working on my phone. Over the last 3 days I spoke with a Lexus Brand Engagement Specialist for about 45 minutes with no resolution and have been playing telephone tag with a more senior rep for the last 2 days. Today I decided to go back to the beginning and try to get it working on my own. Using my wife's phone (she is the primary driver and carries our singular key FOB) I again downloaded the digital key to her phone. Once that was accepted and paired with the car, I invited myself as a "Guest" to get a digital key. I got the SMS message with the invite and went through the steps to activate it. Wonder of wonders, the process worked! You do have to be right next to the vehicle while going through the activation and pairing steps as they can time out pretty quickly. As a test, I was able to unlock and start it it with her FOB in the house, far away from the vehicle. Given reports of "flakiness" I did take her FOB with me on a short trip to Costco. One does not want to "tempt the gods"...

Lexus and Toyota for years have had a reputation for long lasting and above average build quality. When I spend 60K on a car I expect no squeaks, rattles, and other issues and if something slips through, then I expect it to be fixed. If these things don't bother you then great then just keep ignoring them or turn up the radio so you don't have to worry at all. My car came with a digital key and yes I doesn't work. Am I going to lose sleep over it? No, but I am stuck with the option as it was on my allocation and if I was billed $ 275.00 for it, they should either fix it or refund the price paid.
