Second shop does not do that because a co-worker got his car done here and the film goes right up to the edge. He is extremely happy with their work and they happen to be a couple of hundred dollars less for the full front.
Both shops have phenomenal reviews online, so my question is this: Do I understand the "wrapped edges" correctly and is that worth the extra cost?
Thanks!
Ask the shop you like to wrap it under the edge. I asked the shop that did mine and all they have to do is pull the pre cut PPF a bit down to have enough to fold around the edge and under.

100% ask for wrap edges. It protects the edges obviously and also give you playroom when it starts to wrap it will not be on the hood but underneath it so you can mitigate it. Where are your location?

Default Front end wrapped

Any of you guys have the front of your RX wrapped and if so what was your costs. I've received two quotes and one was $3800 and the other $4100. I'm not so sure I couldn't have the frontend repainted for these prices.

I had ppf on front bumper wrapping around to wheel well, mirrors and headlights. They also tinted front windows. In addition had infotainment screen done which was $70. Best $70 ever spent. No fingerprints no glare and protection. Total cost $1,400. Installers are the best.

Now that's more like it. I guess I'll continue to shop around.

I had PPF done on my front end, did anyone cover the front Lexus logo? It was advised by my installer to not cover it with PPF due to possible radar interference.

You cannot get much from the dealer for paint protection for $500 usually. What parts are getting PPF?

Even half hood, half fenders and bumpers would be well worth it. Get them to do the fog lights and headlamps. You don't want to know what a new headlight costs.

For those that did PPF for just half car (Front bumpers, hood, fenders, etc), does it look different than the rest of the car in terms of shine, gloss, etc? I just had my entire car ceramic coated, but obviously doesn’t protect against rock chips— which is the main reason I want to do front PPF.
