First of all if you drive on highway over 55 mph and it’s little windy it’s extremely loud and that’s not because of pano roof , I think it’s bad shape of those two rails on top of the roof . Never thought that fuel engine will be that loud when it start and works on hybrid model . And the third thing which disappointed me when you drive more than 70-75 mph it’s barely make 25 MPG not even close for what manufacturer said of 34 MPG . It’s comfortable and has lots of futures but if I new upfront that it is that loud I would never buy hybrid. Overall great car but NOISE. It’s super slow on start by the way.

Have a great day everyone.
My 3 week old RX350h is basically the same vehicle, but we must be driving different machines!

Here is a review video (not the hybrid) with good audio and no voiceover. The driving starts at the 7 minute mark.

I will update in few weeks. My 2015 RX350 drive more quiet then this 2023 RX350h when it runs on fuel engine . Next time i'll try premium fuel . I do not even know which fuel they put at the dealership .

Congratulations on your new RX! I also picked up mine on the 28th. It is 350h Prem+ with the Michelin Primacy. It is also quite loud. Did you measure the cabin noise at highway speed?

FWIW, my newly-acquired 2015 Gen 3 RX350 is also pretty noisy (more so than Gen 2), measuring 69-70 decibels under normal driving conditions. And the guys over at the Gen 3 forum told me it's normal! Clearly the so-called Lexus quality ain't what it used to be. This will be my last Lexus car or SUV.

Something’s amiss here. There’s a reason both Lexus and specifically the RX are segment leaders. The quietness and ride, in addition to low repair/ maintenance costs and durability, are most of that. Maybe it’s your tires. 3rd Gen RX is STILL a highly prized used car even though the newest ones are now 7 years old.

That's more for older Lexus sedans than for SUV's. Even the new LS sedan is not so 'smooth and quiet' according to many reviewers. The answer is probably Lexus changing their motto from "Relentless persuit of perfection" to "Relentless persuit of sportiness".
I have actually test driven the Gen 5 RX and new LX (I intentionally skipped Gen 4 couldn't stand the ugly look)... excellent seat comfort but the ride was definitely not the Lexus of old.

I will also dispute the "low maintenance cost". These cars may be reputedly reliable (knock on wood) until something breaks then it will cost you an arm and a leg (unless you DIY).

Repair and maintenance cost are completely different. Over three years my RX cost me $440 to maintain. Lexus is by far the lowest cost non-electric brand to maintain.

https://caredge.com/ranks/maintenanc...ar/best#models

Quietness: decibel levels at 55 mph
2018 Jaguar F Pace 58.6
2018 Mercedes GLC 59.8
2018 BMW X5 57.1
2018 Lexus RX 450h 52.1
2018 Lexus LS 53.8

At the 5 minute mark Kirk totally disagress with you. Alex on Autos on YouTube gave the 2022 Lexus NX 350h an A- in cabin noise. He has not done a complete review on the 23 RX. Be willing to bet the RX is quieter than the NX.

Yeah, this! This is why the RX is the category leader. And this new one has all the signs that this will continue. If you don’t want the range anxiety and charging issues of a BEV, this 36MPG 4000+ pound smooth and reliable RX is a no-brainer, with nothing else similar competing.

The RX is the #1 selling luxury non electric SUV every year. The 2022 model sold 50% more units than #2 the BMW X3. This model when hopefully supply chain issues are fixed will sell way more units than the fourth generation.

Yes, we looked at the BMWs...the RX is just a lot more car than the X3, and the X5 is way more expensive...not to mention the cost of fixing those nice driving but quixotic Teutonic cars.

Ten years of RX ownership and not one single repair...just a couple brake jobs and routine maintenance which is very inexpensive if you go to a competent independent repair shop (roughly 60% less than the predicted maintenance prices Lexus gave me when we bought the car).

That car will now become my elegant second car.

It's not only the cost of fixing and maintaining Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Volvo, it's the constant hassle. There's ALWAYS something to be done. Lexus is the opposite. Pretty much just change the oil and do tire and brake maintenance as needed and drive on.

Since you have the pano roof as well, did you measure the cabin noise level by any chance especially at highway speeds? Thanks!!

I know this all too well. The hassle (not to mention expense) of driving 45 minutes to get the car fixed, leaving it, driving back, largely ruins a day...I will, however, admit some trepidation that I am buying a car with a whole new platform ....sure hope/expect the engine and transmission to be fully reliable..

I remember, back in the 80's, a comedian did this whole routine about owning a Mercedes. And how what a relief it was to get the Dodge Dart loaner car when you took the Mercedes in for it's every 30 day service. Because you don't care about dinging or scratching a Dodge Dart and because they were reliable!

The new platform is somewhat concerning, but Lexus has a good track record with new platforms.
