Default Seat comfort on 23RX?

Just wonder how the seat comfort level is on the 23 RX? My 05 RX400h was on the top of my list along with 21 Ram1500 limited. And I have driven 15Lexus GX460(in the pass), 18 Volvo XC90 (in the pass), 22 BMW X5 (current). Amount of these cars 05RX and 21Ram are the best. 15GX and 18XC90 would kill my poor back in a long trip driving. X5 is in the middle. I used to drive the 05RX whole day long non stop and still felt OK. The seat cushion of that RX was thick and soft and supported the same time.
I sat in a 23RX Luxury yesterday but I didn't have that cozy feeling which I could get from my old 05RX... Or maybe I should try out the one with nulux material.
IMO for a Lexus RX, people would expect more in the comfort and cabin quietness. I really hope Lexus doesn't mess it up.

We purchased the sport trim package on our 23RX because the seat bolsters supported my back better than the other models.

I have found seat comfort to be extremely subjective based upon a number of factors, most specifically body size. I’m a big boy. I had an 2019 Audi Q7. That seat “wrapped” me with side bolsters that although not uncomfortable, we’re not as plush feeling to me as my 2022 Highlander. For me, the Highlander seats were some of the most comfortable I have sat in. The Lexus RX is close to the Highlander, but gives me a tad more “wrap” feel. With the thigh extender it is very comfortable. Unless you are extremely fat instead of pretty damn fat like me, I think you’ll be impressed.

I like seat pan tilt for thigh support. Only the Luxury trim has it.

BMWs have very hard seats, even with the comfort seat option. I had to use a memory foam cushion on my last two BMWs. The best ergonomically designed car seat I have sat in are Volvos, they really put some effort into their seat designs. Seat comfort is an individual thing, I find the more aggressive bolsters on the F Sport to be painful, other people like them, etc.

Car seats have changed, mostly for the worse, since 2005. They are generally firmer, have less cushioning and less adjustability in the tilt of the bottom cushion. Take your time and spend as long as possible in the seats of any car you are considering. Seats that feel good after a few minutes can become painful after an hour or so of driving. You are really the only one who can judge whether a seat fits and is comfortable.

Hard to tell from a brief sitting but the 2023 we sat in felt a lot like our 2013 which is very nice. Just did 2000 miles in the last week but I agree that seat comfort is highly subjective.

I can't do anything "sport" nowadays for the way I drive and how much I drive. I put 30-40k miles to the odometer every year. Sometimes it could be non-stop whole day driving close to thousand miles. I love thick and cozy cushion on the seat which can serve me the best on the road. Very unfortunately to me, the trend is making the seat pedal thinner and harder.
Like other said, seat comfort is subjective. So it is nothing right or wrong, better or worse. Just to my case, that is how I prefer. I am glad that you could find the one which serves you better.

The CFO did not like the F-Sport seats. So "she who must be obeyed" won that round. Frankly, I, too find the non-F-Sport seats more comfy.

Yes that is quite unfortunate. Regular seat (Non-luxury trim) on 23RX doesn't have enough thigh support in my opinion. The seat's surface feels even shorter than the my 05Rx's.

The 18XC90 inscription had very good ergonomic shape of the seat for supporting. However, it is lack of cushion which can't really offer a long term comfort on a long trip. I couldn't even walk straight one day when I got off it from a 10 hours driving. The 22BMW X5 is still new to the family, and I haven't have chance to try it out yet, but it does feel have thicker cushion than Volvo's.

Can't agree anymore! We were all impressed that Volvo's ergonomic seats in the beginning but after I learned that a soft and thick cushion is much important for long trips.
I am very interested in getting my butt on a 23RX for a least a couple of days.
