Try checking/cleaning the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) There are directions in another thread. This may improve your performance if you are having any rough idling, stalling, poor acceleration problems. The cost of a can of MAF cleaner spray is about $7.

After tightening up it runs like a sports car in my mind because of how bad performance had degraded.

Check your throttle cable before wasting money on the other fixes. My mechanic made me clean injectors and change spark plugs which was a waste of money. If it was not for this forum i would have spent alot more money guessing what the problem was when it was so simple.
I hope this is your prob and not something more costly!
I only had 1/4" or so slack but removing it made a BIG difference!

It's the adaptive tranny - one of the few needless inventions in my humble opinion. My RX300 always feels peppier after the major service at every 30K. You can pull the fuse for 30 seconds and drive aggressively for a few days. Though once you start to baby the throttle, it'll get wimpy again in a few days.

I'd rather get a power button for the tranny.

You think our`s are bad,you should drive the Mercedes. When I drive my wife`s, it fight`s me at first. And then I get "what are you doing to my car?"

Dragular and Artbuc,
I am going to have my mechanic check on that (throttle cable) just for the heck of it. Not a bad idea.
I am at work dreading the call from Lexus today about my bill. I have the same problems it seems as many people in here with a sluggish car and that is AFTER I changed the both B1 and B2 O2 sensors. Fuel to air ratio problem.
