DIY: AC Servo
Started my car today and I heard a loud buzzing noise.
Thanks to CL I learned it was the AC Servo air mixer.
It has 3 positions for the air to blow (Head, Head/Foot, Foot)
Mine was stuck in the middle and was blowing cold air on the feet and the outside vents (closest to windows) No air was blowing through the center console nor the rear console.
I assisted the arm on the ac servo and unplugged the wire going to the servo. I live in FL and I rarely use the AC to the foot option. You can still select mode on the display but it will no longer move from head to foot.

Step 1: Open glove box
Step 2: Remove 2 Philips head screws on the top corners (make sure you use the right philips screw driver because you can easily strip the screws. They were tighter than expected)
Step 3: Remove 2 10mm bolts on the bottom corners.
Step 4: Just pull toward you and the entire glove box will come out.

I think you are taking about the "mode" servo. If you disagree with me please correct.
Mode -> which vent gets the air from the blower; There is a mode selector **** and in Auto mode the selection is done for you.
And finally, how did you resolve the problem?

I just did this over the weekend.
One think I would add. I was worried about lining up the new motors with the position of the selector arms.
When you remove the old motors, turn the car on and verify where the air is blowing. Should be the defrost and max cold.
TIP: Plug the motors in and turn the car on and adjust the A/C to defrost and max cold. This will ensure that the motors are in the correct position for reinstall.
Then it is an east process to put the motors back in with no stress..

as salimshah said: you are dealing with the mode control servo [the one that regulates airflow to head, feet etc]. keep this in mind when ordering the part, should you chose to do so. these parts are not cheap, and if you order the air control/air mix servo [the one that raises the temp ie controlled by the left hand ****], you will be unhappy. the good news is the mode control servo is easier to install.
