Default Outer Rear View Mirror Problem

After going through a car wash I manually adjusted the passenger side rear view mirror and now using the control switch it will not operate in the right or left mode, up and down mode works fine.
Does anyone have any idea what's causing the problem and how to repair it?

Just give it a nudge, left and right and try again.

Makes a horrible noise in the process but I agree, it works to give the mirror a little nudge. Used to do it all the time when I washed it.

I think this is a common problem, they had to change the motors out before I picked mine up.

Both of mine (l and r) were replaced because of the same issue, under warranty.

Mine RH had worked intermittently for up and down positions. I bought RH side mirror from ebay for $150, painted for $50, then installed. Installation itself is piece of cake in the most part. You don't need to remove door cover completely from the car, it is enough pace to disconnect plug from controller. I got a good DIY from one the member here as pdf file.
Let me know if you need this DIY or admin wants posted as DIY for sides mirror, I will send it.
