Hi,

I am considering installing an after market DVD unit to replace the DVD, radio in my current vehicle. I have the factory navigation installed.

I was considering the following options and would appreciate the users' of this forum's feedback:

1. Buy a double din kit and replace the audio (similar to https://www.clublexus.com/forums/6498856-post28.html). Would I be able to hook up the steering wheel controls to control the volume on this unit but keep the telephone functions on the current nav? What else might I have to deal with?
2. Replace the head unit/navigation kit with an after market pioneer or kenwood. What are the downsides? I guess I loose trip information and climate control functionality?

You need to some more researching before you consider upgrading your stereo. I have a 2007 RX350 with Mark Levinson Navigation and RSES in the back. And using the old Beatsonic face plate and wiring harness. I installed a great Kenwood System. But I lost all of the functions for my car.

The Beatsonic guys say they have fixed the problems. But you might still lose some functions on your car. Depending on what options you have installed.
