2011 RX 450h Value?
So while at the dealer today getting my driver side window replace due to a bad factory tint job y wife looked at this: http://www.lexusoflehighvalley.com/V...-PA/1506049963
When she relayed to me what it was my first... second... and third reacion was
Just pricing a 2012 out at MSRP there is only an $1,100.00 difference from a NEW 2012 compared to the non-CPO'd 2011.
In case the listing goes down it's a 2011 Matador with the option package which lists 2012 MSRP at $55,095.00 and the USED 2011 listing at $53,995.00.
Now granted there is probably more room to move on the used one but this seems to confirm my theory that dealers are jacking pre-owned prices to move new vs. used. Or is this actually what to expect? When I was looking at the non-hybrid RX the difference between new and used (non-CPO) was only a few grand... so I fell into the new one quite easily.

take my word for it... dont pay more than 49,900 for the 2011... you can get a 55,000 MSRP 2012 for between $50,000 - $51,000... the 2011 should be $1,000 less. ive read lots of posts on here to get those prices... and I just bought a 2012 450H a few weeks ago... buy the car between christmas and new years eve and youll save a lot

I am not so sure about that. I bought, factory ordered, an Ultra Premium II, full load for just over 70K. They had a 2010 with 2000KM with same package that they offered me for 65K. I got a trailer hitch and some other stuff and I got brand new, no miles and its two years newer. Down the road that 5K will turn into much more just based on the age. People are hungry for used cars now as there are no lease returns as there have been in the past due to many companies not doing leases for a few years. That being said, MSRP is set by the manufacturer not the market place.
They sold the 2010 for 67K a week ago with 3000K on it. I am so stoked about my deal after I heard that.

I'm always amazed at CPO Lexus' with 30 or 40 thousand miles on them at prices not all that much lower than a new one (relatively speaking), and people snap them up like they are getting a bargain.

Are we talking about American dollars or another currency? 75,000 for an RX? huh?

Here's something to compare with ... I got an "unheard of" deal from my business partner. He sold me a 2011 450h for the price the dealer offered him ... $43K
Garage kept, 1400 miles, 19" wheels, Premium Package (Nav, 12 speadkers, Parking Assist), Comfort Package (Heated/Ventilated seats), Bi-Xenon lights, Wood & leather steering wheel, cargo net, wheel locks & cargo mat.
So if they're offering that one for basically $54K they're making a whole lotta $$$$$$$$ on it. Especially since I saw it didn't have the extras I have above .... they must have bought that for under $43K.

That's what I was thinking about how much they are making or will make. Someone, somewhere got ripped off. Or maybe it was a demo? I dunno... But the CPO and even non-CPO market is high in price; at least around these parts anyway. 24K-30K mile 2010 non-Hybrids are hitting the $39-$41K mark in this neck of the woods. Pre-owned hybrids are fetching an additional $3-4K premium on top of their non-Hybrid counterparts.

Mine is a 450H with every single option available. I paid $72K and it included the pdi and all the crap, block heater, mudflaps, winter carpets, trailer hitch, head up, radar cruise, rear dvd, etc. Go to Lexus.ca and price it out. You cant get this car in the US unless you factory order it. It was canadian dollars. I was very happy with the price all things being equal.

Don't be surprised that dealers are asking for unthinkable mark-ups on used cars. They are using the reason - doing business in a difficult environment, to make enough excuse to RIP OFF buyers.

When the buyer and seller agree on the price that sets the price of that transaction. If you don't like the deal don't buy it and just go somewhere else. A buyer who feels ripped off put himself in that position.

I one hundred percent agree. Market value is defined as an arms length transaction where a buyer is willing to pay what a seller is willing to sell for. What is good value to me is not necesarily good value for you. Your needs are different than mine.
