Changing opening Image
I've been trying to change the opening image on the NAV from the Lexus to logo to a custom one
but I had no luck
what i have done so far
New USB Fat 32 and fat 16
created a folder (Case Sensitive) : StartupImage
put couple of pictures (4 or 5) in it
2 of them less than 32 characters
2 of them exactly 32 characters (not counting extension)
saved as JPEG and JPG
files less than 5 mb each
and still no luck ,, it says could not find any pictures
Lexus RX 350 Panorama 2013
got any advice how to proceed?
thanks

I just brought my 2104 home yesterday and have not tried changing the screen image yet, but I did find out that there are some USB drives it won't read.
I loaded up some mp3 audio on a 4GB stick to try out on the test drive; and it worked great. So last night I downloaded a bunch of music to a larger (32GB) drive, and the RX would not recognize the drive (but the home computer is fine with it).
So possibly there is a size limitation to the USB drive that can be used.

i have been able to get this to work, before you waste a lot more time, the time the image is displayed on startup is very brief. I was able to load the shutoff image but have never seen it on the NAV Screen.
This is the thumb drive I used. It has lots of music and the two Lexus image folders:
A video of the NAV System startup including our custom image is here.
We enjoy seeing the photo of our daughter and granddaughter but the time the image shows is brief.

Yes i have
Thank you !!
i followed your pictures even the name of the files and it worked !!!!
The only thing i noticed different was the allocation size, i set it to 32 kb and it worked like a charm
thank you sooooo much...
I can compile a quick guide here
1-format USB using FAT 32 and allocation size of 32 kilobytes
2- Make 2 folders in the USB (StartupImage & DisplayOffImage) * Case sensitive
3- Open your picture using MsPaint on windows
4- Save as and type the name for example (123456789.jpg) make sure you include (.jpg)
5- copy the image to both folders
6- eject USB
7- Start your car
8- Insert USB
9 - Menu - setup - Change opening Screen - Transfer (now you get your photo on the list and chose it)
10- Menu - setup - Change Screen off image - Transfer (now you get your photo on the list and you chose it)
now when you start your car will be greeted with lexus logo then the image for quick 1-2 seconds...
--- hit menu -- click display (top right corner) -- chose screen off .. not you get your image always displayed on the screen
Thank you everyone for your help and i hope we have put an end to this question finally

I just did my Image swap last night. I changed the DisplayOffImage. It worked as described above.
Now I need to see if this DisplayOff image will just stay on the screen forever (until I hit "Display Off" button) or if it times out after a while and goes to a blank screen. I only tested for about 15 minutes last night while I was exploring other featurers.

As for my images it was scaled down without messing with ratio of the picture so I got black bar on top and bottom
Indeed it is
