Default RZ Battery Full 100% Charge?

I recently purchased an RZ and i noticed that when charging the RZ it charges full 100% battery. I noticed in the infotainment settings it is set to "Full" by default, but i do have an option to adjust 90%, 80%, .... and so on. I know most EVs like Tesla recommend 80% charge for longevity of the battery life. Does that rule apply for RZ battery as well?

The car has 74.1 kwh battery, with only 64 kwh usable (~90%). Tesla allows you to access 100% of the battery. So maybe it is not necessary to limit to 80% or 90% and to just charge to 100% everyday.

Anybody know more about this?

From what I have read on line, so take this as maybe less than fact.

Using a level 1 or level 2 charger, where the batteries charge slowly over a long time, charging to 100 percent should be fine. Slower charging allows for heat induced by the charging process to dissipate from the batteries.

The super chargers are where the concern about charging to 100 percent is a potential long term problem, as the final part of the charging process generates a lot of heat that cannot be dissipated in a timely manner, which is is not good for batteries.

If you are using a Level 1 or Level 2 charger, you can charge 100%. If you use a DC Fast Charger, only charge to 80%.

Found this answer on the Lexus of Canada site …
AC (Level 1 and Level 2): Go ahead and charge to 100%. Once 100% is reached, it will stop charging to help preserve the battery. DC Fast Charging (Level 3)3: We recommend charging to 80% to achieve the maximum benefit of the quick charging spee
Lexus RZ 450e - Battery Electric Vehicle FAQs

Depending on the type of charger, we recommend charging to certain limits to maintain the long-term battery health.
  • AC (Level 1 and Level 2): Go ahead and charge to 100%. Once 100% is reached, it will stop charging to help preserve the battery.
  • DC Fast Charging (Level 3)3: We recommend charging to 80% to achieve the maximum benefit of the quick charging speed. It is possible to charge to 100% with this method, but the charging rate will automatically be reduced once it reaches 80% to help preserve the battery. To help maintain long-term battery health, DC Fast Charging is limited to two cycles of charging (Low → 80%) per day throughout the year.
