RZ450e Premium - sunroof shade ?
Hi All,
We received our RZ450e Premium last week and have been really enjoying it. It's perfect for us as a commuter car (since we drive our hybrid for long distances).
We live in Texas and the sun beats down. We've noticed that the area under the sunroof gets very warm inside. We started pointing the vents above the display up to push that hot air around a bit. It helps a little, but a better answer would be some sort of sun shade to cover the glass. Does anybody know if Lexus is making one? Or is there another option you can think of?
Thanks!

Temporary fix to missing panoramic sunshade !
I've got a request in at the local Lexus dealer to track down the "official" panoramic sunshade. In the meantime, and you're going to laugh/cringe, I found that I could cut some thin stiff cardboard and slide it in place under the headliner. This works perfectly! It is less hot and much darker inside.

Running all that AC also decreases your range/uses more juice, so it's definitely a good idea to cut down on the interior heat. In addition to the removable shades sold by Lexus (and eventually by third parties), another option that could be done stand-alone or in conjunction with the shade is to get a solar film applied to the glass that inhibits heat, blocks some light, or both.

The RZ glass roof has a UV coating and a Low E coating already. According to Lexus, it's cooler inside than the previous Gen NX with the regular sunshade.

Impressive!
I've been searching for it. Could you share the size, material, and how to make it in detail?
Thank you in advance.

Here's what I made, from Coroplast. Of course, I could have taken pictures when done with both. The front is a little larger than the back. The cutout is the hardest part. 36" wide is nearly a perfect fit for the front, but the back needed more trimming. I did a shade at first and then used it as a guide. I linked that screen further down below.

And here are the measurement pics of the screen shades. Note these are a little larger than the coroplast as some extra is needed to hold the sides in place with rubber shims. The coroplast is fairly rigid but is decently easy to bend and maneuver. Just don't bend them too much or they will crease.
