Post 1993 sc400 trunk stuck closed

Hello, all I have a 1993 sc400 that currently does not run, and I can't open the trunk at all. I also might mention that there is no lock for a key in the taillight, just an open hole. I have tried to reset the lock in the cabin by taking apart the lower steering collum cover, and it worked but I still can't hear the button click at all. Would there be any way to get in mechanically or are my options limited to electrical? Either way I could use some help to get mfer open!

I would go the electric route. You can disconnect the anti-theft ECU and apply 12v to pin 5 (black wire) to operate the opener motor. If that doesn't work the motor is shot and you are now in for a real pain in the *** of a job getting the trunk open mechanically which aside from cutting a hole in your trunk i've got no clue on. Best of luck

You might be able to reach the pull cord on the right side of the trunk by going through the speaker or subwoofer opening. There should be enough room to slither past the fuel tank... But, you'd have to push the trunk/tank divider panel out of the way, and its clips hold pretty snug.
