Default Dome light won't come on when opening either doors

I bought the car like that and the dome light never came on when I opened the door. I also recently found out that the footwell light and the ignition ring light also does not turn on when opening the door. The light however DOES work because I can manually turn it on when I switch it to the ON position, but it never turns on when it's in the DOOR position!

What could the issue be other than the integration relay? I found this troubleshooting guide from the Lexus Repair manual but that's the only thing they're suggesting is wrong or the harness but I don't know how to test that.

it's not the bulb, so either the relay or the harness?!

You circled three things but seem to have dismissed the one that's the most likely culprit: Door Courtesy Switch. I don't remember offhand where the door plungers are located, but a quick search indicates they're not nearly as easy to get to as I was thinking...

oh yes, I forgot to mention the door courtesy lights come on just fine on both doors when they're opened so the sensor/switches work fine

Gotcha. Harness issues seem unlikely, then, so I'd agree with the integration relay being most likely. I don't have any familiarity with that, though.

So I tapped into the RED/WHITE wire from under the fuse box of the kick panel which is the DOOR TRIGGER/DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION and it shows 12v when a door is closed and 0v when it's open (what it's supposed to do with a negative door trigger) however it won't power the dome light with this as you need 12v when open and 0v when close...the opposite...

Anyone know how to fix this? I'm tempted to just run a wire from my alarm domelight wire directly to the dome light and call it a day. I tested it and yes it works. When disarming it sends enough voltage to drive the LED dome lights for 30s. This still won't make the dome light turn on when opening the door but close enough when I disarm to unlock and open the door I'll have up to 30s before it turns off.

If it's outputting the opposite signal, wouldn't that mean your dome light is off when the door is open and on when it is closed?

Seems there has to be more going on...

sorry I had it reversed but I fixed it now

12v closed —> 0v open

Ok I just ran the alarm dome light wire that turns on the light for 30s on disarm and off on arm directly to the dome light. Hey it works but not the most elegant solution.

I’d rather figure out the negative door trigger to power the dome light but it’ll have to do for now.
