I'm not sure if your paint is metallic or not, usually flat colors have more depth than metallic, but metallic sparkles more!

I dont know if we have any paint gurus on CL

After you get the car painted, try this stuff.

http://www.der-realstuff.com/dshiney.html

The master painter of Monster Garage indicated he does not use waxes on his paint jobs, only the stuff above.

You know what I just remembered? Din actually did ALOT of the prep work, sanding, etc on his car when he had the candy paint done, maybe he can offer some suggestions on getting more depth, etc etc

I know that a extra layer of clearcoat or 2 could not HURT matters!

I guess pretty soon we're gonna have to call you levelafternextcoupe eh? damn

get black with a gold peral...

if you want it to shine add a few extra clear coats. On my House of Kolor Kandy paint job we sprayed 2 coats of clear, let it dry over night came in wetsanded it down then sprayed 4 more coats. So this may help you achive extra shine.

this sounds like the route i want to take! but, this bodyshop i initially selected is trying to beat me over the head (pricewise) quoted me 4.900.00 just to paint and prep whole car except roof, pass side fender, pass side door, hood ,front bumper- utter robbery!..so, i will sit down with this dude and get a clear understanding of the extra expense...if not, i will be looking for another bodyshop....wish me luck!

you could get a Kandy color paint job for the price around here.... Kandy is a lil more time consuming.

well the bodyshop is not willing to go any lower than 4200.00 so i think i will be going somewhere else as of tomorrow...hey din, did you need body work done as well or does it seem accurate for just paint and prep work for that kind of money?

Ok i just looked at ur pictures.... my freind owns a body shop so I pretty much gett hooked up on my paint and body work. Normally to prep and paint a car with only minor body work they charge about 2200$.(normal paint job) Depending on how bad ur accident is and how much body work you need done will add on to the basic price of a full paint job.Hope that helps.

needs: new door,fender,mirror...that's it. the quarter panel is going to repaired and rear bumper painted. the bulk of the work is the impact on the quarter panel(which is not bad) and the impact of the door hinge-which might need to be lined up properly- nothing extreme in my estimation.
