Default Cluster question

I will try to explain as best I can.
The clear ( or tinted I guess) plastic piece on the cluster that goes in front of the needles and lights.
Mine has some marks on it that look like I could remove them easy but the are on the inside. Is there a way I can get this piece off without having to remove the whole cluster ?
I just started to do it but thought I'd ask first.

Thanks O.L.t
I have looked at that tutorial many times before but it doesn't really state if the plastic on the front comes apart from the cluster. I know it obviously does or you ( O.L.T. ) wouldn't be able to change the needles.
It seems pretty easy to remove the cluster just doesn't mention this part, maybe it will be strikingly obvious when I get the cluster out.

Default Sory guys 1AM been searching and reading for hours

Maybe it is just late and my brain isn't working right BUT.
I am replacing my speedo cluster bulbs in my display. Are they 194's because I saw O.L.T. say ( and I know he is the man in regards to these ) something about Sylvania #24's and that threw me off. Is this only if you are using those caps ?
also what about the bulbs for the PRND2L my D is out ?
Can't figure if all bulbs are the same climate, NAK, speedo e.t.c or different.
Auto Zone parts guy said they were 194's so that is what I have right now
I'm getting som esleep and hopefully it will all be clearer in the am.
There are so many posts on this that I think I have over researched and need to just stop reading and go ahead and do it.
Thanks all,
PS if anyone could answer this for me by tomorrow I would greatly appreciate it.

I've swapped out cluster bulbs in both my SC's and used the sylvania #24's. No covers required. The bulbs are a little larger but they bases fit right into the stock holders(not sure on the technical name). The hardest part of the swap is pulling the old bulbs from the green holders. I think I broke every bulb and then just ripped them out. I'm not very patient. As far as the bulbs for the shifter, ac and stereo, I'd pm OLT.

Sorry guys.
I just changed my bulbs and yes once I got the cluster out it was all painfully obvious how to get it all apart.
For anyone that hasn't done this it is unusually easy. Stop researching and just do it.

Default What's the fix for dim Tach and Speedo needles

I just joined Club Lexus. This is my second SC 400 ('92). My son's girlfriend totaIed our '93.I think a used SC 400 is the most bang for your buck, it's an awesome ride. The subject of dim needles must of come up before, however, I have not been able to get any info. Any info on how to fix the dim needle problem would be appreciated.

The quick and inexpensive fix is to bang the top of the dash with your hand. You'll be surprised how many lights come back on.... seriously!
