Hi Guys,
This is my first post. I was hoping someone there knows the "REAL DEAL". Orginally I reserved the SC430 I was told I was #17 on the list and that they would get 12 cars a month. Now the dealer in NY is telling me that they are only getting 7 cars a month and my car will be coming a month later. I have no choice but to assume he is telling me the truth. How do I know he is not lying to me and selling my car to someone else for 10k over list? Is there a way to check my position on the line and the amount of cars they recieve?
Any help or advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles Sued

C-man,
it all depends on your relationship with your dealer. from your posts, i thick you have been shortchanged. i am in s.cal, and i see a lot of east coast ad that are asking $68-$75k for a $61k car.
to find out if your dealer is truly getting only 7 sc430 /month, i would call the national lexus owner service number and find out the allocation to your region.
is there a guaranty that your sc will be here a month later than expected? or the guy is merely doing a "contractor talk(nooffense to such tradesman)"?
i am not even on any list and all i have to wait is 4 months.
will

Gs4will- I was in the Lexus of Riverside dealership (California) on Saturday 3/31 and they had a sweet SC430 in white gold crystal color all options and dealer added chrome rims for 61k plus dealer add on for rims and paint prep of 67K. Walk in, drive out no waiting. phone is 1-800-899-5398

I can't speak for the upgraded sc430 with the wheels and paint stuff...but I wouldn't pay a dime over the sticker. Not that the car isn't worth it...but honestly...Lexus frowns on markups..and most Lexus dealerships...good ones...won't mark it beyond MSRP.
If I were you I would place a few deposits at various dealerships in your area. Hedging your bets is always agood idea in a sitation like this. Good luck.

Yeah you are thinking along the lines of what I was. I will be investing the portion I would have spent if I financed the purchase of the car. It ends up costing me less to lease for three years and buy it out at the end of the 3 years as opposed to financing over 5.
The residual is close to 60+% at the end of three years.
Happy driving.
