I thought there weren't any manual 97s? And the engine isn't VVTI which 97s have. I think it's an earlier 5spd with a bodykit upgrade to the 97.

What do you guys think?

Damn, that's hard to say... if it's an updated pre-'97, then they updated the interior, too. Look at the headrests (different from my 93) and the rear deck doesn't have the third brake light. But like you said, it's not VVT-i, unless it is and it wasn't badged as such in that year... I dunno.

97 was the last year for 5spd, and VVti did not come until 98

Haha, don't forget Biggie! lol, but are you sure about '98 being the first year for VVT-i? I thought it was '97; isn't Lex Luthor's a '97? It's VVT-i, I know that.

no, lex luthor has a 99

The VVti came in 98 along with a 5spauto in the 400, a new 4spd auto in the 300 and a new gated shifter

99 got a 3spoke steering wheel

Actually the rarest of the rare would be a 1997 SC300 5-spd, royal sapphire pearl, hardtop (no moonroof), with black velour interior. I'm pretty sure this car doesn't even exist! That being said, someone needs to buy this car now....

i'm also looking at the company the Sc is keeping there. I see a Porsche 911, a 928, a jag, a 740il and a few others.

not bad for a 'yoda. eh?

What a beautiful car. A CL member should buy that and keep it in the family.

I would love to see a CL member buy this car. Preferably in the Tri-State area. LOL!!

It's funny, as soon as I finished posting I looked at the interior and thought how much would it cost to switch it out for black!!!!!!!
