Default Best Tint for Your SC?

Opinions Guys, What is the best tint on a Dark Green SC4? I dont think black tint look good either, on a green SC that is. And quantium is only cool if you got chrome wheels!. Just wondering because I know that alot of people have the Dark Green SC Color scheme. Thanks!

I have Quantum...very happy with it, other than how hard/expensive it is to work with.

I have 5% tints on a black SC, for a dark green I would go with 30-50% more subtle still classy with the dark green
just my opinion.

I would go for 35%.. watch the titanium tint if you have a 360 degree radar because it can reduce its ability to detect laser..: cylon:

I went with 5% at the back and 30% up front, it looks a lot better than no tint

You'll never get lasered from the back so this should not be a problem.

I also agree with the 25-35% to go with the green car.
If you tint just the 3 back windows, go 25%.
If you tint the fronts as well and tint the sunroof, go 35% as it will look darker because of the lack of light inside the car.

Just my .02

i have 12% on the front and rear side windows along with the rear windshield and 30% on the front windshield. i'm getting my front and rear windows and the rear windshield retinted in the spring. i think i'm going to go with 5. the tint i had started to peel and turned a little purple, not much AT ALL. i like the look of black windows. i have the jade green sc400 with some BBS rims and i like the look. will post pics when i get the windows re-tinted. oh also, i have a v1 mounted on the left of my rear view mirror, the tint seems to affect the sensitivity a little, i also dropped the little ***** a couple of times so you never know if that does anything.

I have a dark green SC4 with 20% Johnson tint in the back and 35% up front. I think it looks perfect.

I did a lot of shopping/comparison before deciding to go with Johnson films. I think they look just right (not blackish/purplish at all) and really make my car look much, much nicer.

I have a 92 Dark Green SC300, I've had several issues with tint over the last year. Got 2 tint tickets and guess what? That's right, i just paid the ticket and got the windows retinted. I live in Los Angeles and cops use tint as a reason to pull you over and screw with you. I was at a light making a right turn and there was a donut shop on the corner, hold the laughs as this is true, this cop eyeballs me at the light and guns it out of the donut shop and pulls me over, my car never moved from the point where I was about to make the turn, I just sat there because I knew what was coming. Then he wasted like 20 minutes of my time lecturing me about my windows being too dark and so on. After all that he STILL gave me the ticket. I laughed at him while he was writing it, probably not the best idea. Paid the darn ticket and went right back to the tint shop and had them retint the car, 20% all around. I had 35% but it was a little too dark. This way it's still classy and not so gangsta. I figure, if they can somewhat see me then there's no reason to screw with me for the same thing they have on their personal vehicles. I hate cops by the way, well, not all cops, just the ones who eat donuts and administer "fix it" tickets...

Anybody know what is the highest quality film to use? All the tint I have used in the past on every car I tinted, turned purple, and bubbled after a few years. Is this normal? Is Llumar the best?

Thanks,

Altstadt

Most metalized films will be color stable and should not turn blue or purple. Llumar film is one of the best out there but Sun Guard, Sun Tek, and Some Solar Guard Films are good as well. Just make sure your getting metalized film and that your installer can do a 1 peace back window.
Here are some pics you can look at.
Most of the cars with reflective film are with suntek Infinity film and the charcoal film is suntek High Performance film.
