Installed my Mags
Hey Guys,
Been promising some pics of my new exhaust setup but haven't had the time to take the pics.
Yesterday was a beautiful day, so I decided to make the time and snap off a few pictures.
Used the suggested MaganFlow #14829
I had the resonators cut off and replaced by straight pipes as well.
Money Shot
Side View
Piping
Couple more random pics.
Before going this route, I was seriously considering the Borlas.
I'm so happy with this setup that Borlas just look too expensive and unappeaing now.
The sound is beautiful.
I was afraid it would sound a bit ricey(SC300), but it doesn't.
At idle, can't even tell it's modded.
At an unchanging RPM, there's a slight hint that somethings different.
It's when the RPM is quickly increasing or decreasing that it ROARS.
Thanks to all the guys who wrote things on the Mags and helped me make my decision.

I think this is a sound clip of adidas's setup (hope you don't mind)
I'll try to get a sound clip somehow but I'm not sure how I would go about doing it (no digital sound recorder).
My setup sounds a bit quieter than this clip.
Your Mags are probably really quiet because you didn't cut out your resonators.
If you do want a little more rumble, go to your local muffler shop and have them replace your resonators with straight pipes.
The job shouldn't run you more than $40.
I lucked out and found them on eBay for $107/muffler (free shipping) and I grabbed the last set of 2

If you want, you can send an e-mail to the seller and see if he's planning to have any more in stock.

Which reminds me.
adidas: can you describe your set-up in detail?
mainly, what I wan't to know is where your 2.5" pipes start.
Also, how much did this run you (without the cost of mufflers - just install and piping)?

I'm in California so touching the cat is out of the question for me.
I'm not sure which elimination will increase sound more but I'm happy with the way it is now.
BTW: If anyone wants the 14829s, the seller I bought from has re-stocked 2 more:

$107 (shipping included)
Nice deal in my opinion.

as for cost -- it goes back to who you know. i knew someone who knew someone who knew someone at a muffler shop so i got hooked up on the piping and welding. he didn't ring up anything, just gave him $80 and i was out the door. not bad if you ask me, considering it should have cost hundreds. i can't seem to remember how much i got the mufflers for... but i'd have to say $200 maybe? i remember finding an awesome deal on some website, much cheaper than others. i have absolutely no idea what the website is anymore, but i do remember they took a 85.32 years to ship.
hope that helps.
