Cant make my mind up so Ive come to ask the the pros
Anyway I am getting 18's (18X7.5 in the front and 18X8.5 in the rears) and I want to know what size tires should I get? Oh yeah the rims have a .42 mm offset also. And explain why you would use your suggested setup! Thanks in advance. Yes I did search also

You should consider these staggered set ups:
18x8(F) and 18x9(R) or
18x8.5(F) and 18x9.5(R)
Tire Sizes can range anywhere from 225/40 to 245/35 for the fronts and
255/35 to 265/35 in the rears.
Members here even have rim widths that exceed 10-11 inches in the rear. So, there are many options you can explore. I personally think wider is better. Like Verylost said, your suggested set up seems kind of narrow - more suitable for an IS300. Hope this helps.

i suggest a minimum of a 9.5 inch rim in the rear. i have 9.5 now and i am wishing i went with 10 or 10.5. also get a minimum of 8.5 in the front. you will regret it when you try to go with a wider tire setup and u can't because of your rim size.

You shouldn't go that narrow on your car, it will look anorexic. As mentioned above, you can run as wide as a 10 -11 wheel, given proper offsets.

On the rear, you should go 18x10 +45 offset. This offset will allow you to clear the fenders with the wide rim. You should be able to clear with a 265/35 tire, I am not 100% sure if you can clear with the 275, I guess it all depends on how low you are.
On the front, you should go 18x9 +41 offset hi-disk. The hi-disk face will give you enough clearance for big brakes if you plan onn going that route. Otherwise, a normal 18x9 +41 offset will work just fine with a 245/40 tire.

You're right John,
I'm running 19x10's in the rear with +45 offset. When I go over certain types of bumps, they rub my rear fenders slightly. For rear tires, I'm runinng 275's. My car is NOT lowered either. I'm going with coilovers for the drop and rolling the fenders. If I roll my fenders, it appears that rubbing shouldn't be an issue anymore.

hey, since i never get an answer in the wheel forum, would it be possible to fit 275 on a 18x10 at +38 and 245 on 18x9 at +40 (high disk fitment)?
my old wheels were +41, 18x8.5 and 18x9.5; 245 and 275 series profile respectively, they didn't rub at all.

I wish i did what u had done.. purchased rims 18 x 8 all the way around. although acceptable not as wide as it could be in the back.
guys.. can i safely go wider than 245/40/18 on an 8" rear ?? Possibly 255/35 or 255/40??
