here is some pics of my latest mod... a part i've been waiting 6 months for... the alpine 16 gb hardrive!.....here is that write up O.L.T. :
it holds roughly 3,000 songs and works directly with the alpine headunit i have installed. the only downside is that the face of the unit comes off which allows you removal of the hardrive and doesn't slide inside of the unit (like the headunit)- so with this unit installed, doesn't look as clean as it could have been. To defeat this , i plan on wrapping the center console in some sort of leather surface for a clean, even, more uniformed look(after my very-soon -to-come-black interior conversion ).
this is what it looked like before the hardrive install:

....in operation:

off......hardrive/face removed

would you believe the lighting scheme for the radio matches all the lights in the car? the instrument cluster.. a/c controls, etc.. i couldn't be happier with it! also, the controls are extremely easy to use (once your familiar with alpine products) i change setting on the fly without looking at the unit.

Put those iforged rims on the car already!!!! Thats gonna look pimp....

Thats the alpine 7998 right? or 7889? something like that? Well, I am looking into buying that deck, but i wasnt so sure about spending ~500 on a deck. How do you like it? Where did you get the mount kit for it?

Thanks,
John

what's up john? it's the alpine 7998 and i must say that i couldn't find a better radio...simply put-i love it. don't hesitate to get it bro, you won't be dissapointed. as far as those wheels go... i'm just browsing at the moment... i still love the ccw 505a's.
btw, i didn't do the installation myself-but it looks like it came with everything needed to bolt right up...

Sounds good... ive always been an alpine fan and i might just pick that up when the tax return comes. I like the CCW's also, but they arent 3 piece. I still say go for the iforged

if i get these it will be 19"black powdercoated center w/a polished lip 2 piece application. i heard that 3 piece wheels always leak because of the silicone in the center. i saw it myself and the theory is sound...the less headaches the better.

That's not always true. NONE of the 3-piece wheels I had leaked. The leaks I have seen were due to bad tire installers. When they use the tire iron, a LOT of installers are careless and they nick the silicon seal.

There is actually one very good advantage to 3-piece wheels. If you damage a lip, you don't need to send the wheel back to fix it. You can do it yourself and you can do it w/o unmounting the tire...

Your car looks SUPER CLEAN....definitely need a tripod there!
