Dunno if it'd work for a big gulp, but I've been putting fast food things between the seat and the door (about where the recline lever is). Seems to be a lot of room there and the seat pretty much keeps stuff put.

It doesn't fit in the center cup holder and certainly doesn't fit in the weak-*** dash cup holder. For now I use the arm rest storage but there's crap in there already. So where do I put it so that it doesn't spill? What if I have TWO?!?
hey man,
stop drinking those things...it's bad for your teeth

Default big gulp

I very seldom drink in my car and never, ever eat in it. That's why my cars look new as long as I own them. Years ago I spilled a drink. Got the carpet cleaned but it never really looked or felt the same there after. In addition, putting a too large drink in the car can take your attention away from the road worrying about it falling or reaching for it.
Be careful guys.

Back then the sc was probably more German. I'm not sure about now, but German philosophy was to enjoy the drive and not multitask while driving. My 86 Mercedes S class has no cupholders, except the one found on the sc glovebox.

Maybe that's why the older sc didn't have that folding cup holder?

Anyways if you pull off the cd player cover lining there's a small gap in which you could probably wedge in the big gulp.

it's somewhat of an international sterotype that americans are obsessed with cupholders, I think the japanese know of the sterotype, maybe also the europeans.

I've found it a little more difficult to shift when anything's in the cupholder so I try not to use it.
I also try to keep food/drinks out of my car as the probability of it ending up on the leather and carpet is close to 50%.

if anyone reeeeeeally wants an expandable type cupholder, you can get one of those that sits on the window sill of lesser cars and have it hang on the edge of the carpet on the passenger side. Its been done by a few in the supra crowd who have no cupholders at all. Theres a picture on mkiv.com

I simply put it in my center console..then again, its a bit easier for the guys with the auto trans cause its not in the way when shifting..
