Default Found me another SWEET SC!

Well guys, diligence has paid off. Just got home from purchasing my second SC (guess it's time to update the sig!)

Here's the details:

MINT - 1992 SC300 - Silver Spruce
68,600 miles (Stored in winter - never seen snow)
1 Owner
5 speed manual tranny
ALL (and I mean ALL) service records
60 K service done including timing belt
AC system replaced at 50K
New headlight
Even the vent panels that cracked have been replaced by the original owner.

Honestly guys - I have NEVER seen a 92 in this condition. And I thought my 93 SC400 was clean....
First year, super low miles, and just mint - This may be collector material.

I am a little giddy from the whole deal. Pictures will follow after Easter as I have vacation plans. (All I want to do is play with my car)

And I know you are dying to know

Yeah...I'll go along with the congragulations....sounds like a great buy. This previous owner cared for this car just like I do mine...diligently and saving all the records. And manual tranny GS'es, while they're out there, are not particularly easy to find...especially in this condition. I hope you like silver, though....that color is a bit too conservative for my tastes.

Nice find, one owner is harder & harder to find especially for this kind of year. Can't wait to see your pics, show some of the interior too.

Guys -

Thanks for all the congrats.... It's nice to have those who really appreciate the deal and the car's condition to chime in with words of encouragement.

Here's how I found it.... Every morning while having my coffee, I simply logged onto Cars.com and did an advanced search for all Lexus' listed that day within a 150 mile radius. I probably called on about 10 & I went and looked at a few duds before finding this one. The duds helped me determine that I was likely going to have to spend about $8-9000 to find an SC that I would be happy with. So if you are looking - keep at it. One owner pampered cars can still be had.

Having only seen the Silver Spruce in pictures had kinda left me thinking the color was not for me. However, it really looks gorgeous in person. Very classy and refined.

I pick up the car on Monday and will post pics as soon as I return from vacation and have a chance to throw a coat of Klasse on her....

And the fun begins....

Dude, I also just bought a 1992 Silver Spruce SC400. It's my first SC to go along with my 2000 RX300. I really like the color of the car. Definitely a classy look on the SC IMO. I'm really interested in seeing he pics when you get back from your vaca. Good luck with it.

Guys - I finally got around to snapping a few pics of the Spruce SC300 I picked up a couple of months back. Here's one of the interior:

SC300 Interior

You can find the rest in the gallery under faceut if your interested. The condition of this car just blows me away!

Hmmm what wheels would look best on spruce sc?

I'm also looking for a second sc. I hope I do as well as you did.

Saw something yesterday at a small car lot. From the road it looked nice, even had decent 18in wheels on it. The salesman said it is a 93 sc400 with 130,000 miles and in great condition. He wanted $9000 for it. I told him that was too high with that milage. He insisted the car was in great condition, he had papers on all the service done since it was new. I'm thinking maybe it's worth the price. If it's as good as he says, I'm going to offer $7500 cash...right now cash (my bank was 2 blocks away). The closer I get, the worse the car looked. It needs a complete respray. The front seats need to be redone, the rear seats need a lot of work also. The carpet needs work, the wood, wires were hanging from the passenger door...I'm sure you all get the picture. The guy refused to negotiate the price, he thinks it's going to sell this way. Then he tries to compare this car to mine. I left.
