what up guys! im plnning to get this sc300 i saw fr really cheap. the only problem is that it's got so many miles.......170000...at least. h'ever, i drove the car and it seemd to drive fine. it's a private dealership and accrdg to them, thy had recently done a head work; prolly valves, valve seals, headgasket, etc.
is there anything else i shud check or look for before i jump on this deal? this wud be just a daily driver car. im sure it will last fr another 50,000 miles or so if well taken care of.
tks for any feedback..........

Why are you being so harsh on CL, sometimes it just takes some time for people to reply. if you search, you would find many of you answers responded too. If the car runs good and you haven't noticed any problems with the car, go buy it. What you should look out for are the typical SC problems like burnt out needles (which O.L.T. can fix) or it could be a major problem like your control arms and such. The SC can last past 300k miles with proper maintenance. I have 166k miles on mine and drove it from Michigan with no problems. If your getting a good deal, I say buy it unless you notice major problems.

first of all bro, the reason why we don't replay saying "what is thy bidding, my master?" is because in this forum, posts like this come up every 12 hours. As much as we'd love to publish an official Club Lexus Book Value for every SC300/400, we get tired of letting you know if your prospective whip is a deal or not.
(not to mention with all your posts, I'm sure you've obviously used the search button to see what people say about higher milage SCs and diagnostic things to look for when buying one. (either SC300T, SC300TT or SC300Turbo had a great post about this)
Has the car been in an accident? how's the tranny shifting, any smoke upon startup? Is the car seemlessly one color? Are any of the body mouldings painted (cheap paint job)? How was it on the test drive? Have you considered asking your local lexus dealership to charge you 45 bucks to look it over for a half hour?
You need to be picky with 17000 miles. And if you get an auto, you may be kicking yourself when you see all the high HP numbers the 6 speed turbo guys put out.
Don't impulse buy a 5k car and end up spending another 5k just to get it running right. I spent 9.5k on a Cali SC driven by a female tax accountant. The car had 68k on it, and had just had its 60k service... and it's a five speed.
Be picky, or be content with a quick buy.
